Sony Mobile has launched the Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 dual in India. These smartphones were announced back in January and packs a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). These have a 3-megapixel rear camera and offer 100dB loud audio output through rear speakers. These have Walkman key, shake to shuffle and hardware controls for easy music control. Google launches indoor Maps in India, available in 22 cities

Google has introduced indoor Maps in India finally, that lets you determine where you are, what floor you’re on, and where to go indoors and more, when you are visiting popular venues such as malls, supermarkets etc. Google Maps for Android got the Indoor maps feature back in 2011, later it was updated to support walking directions. Adobe Revel photo sharing and editing app now available for Android

Adobe has released the Adobe Revel app for Android devices. This lets you edit your photos with built-in tools such as Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12. It also lets you create a group library to share images. Adobe already has Adobe GroupPix for collaborative photo sharing and Photoshop Express for editing. Adobe Revel is already available for iPhone and iPad. The company has launched the smartphone in India as it promised last month. The Canvas Knight has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 2 GHz octa-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It features a 16-megapixel auto focus rear camera with M8 Largan lens, LED Flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Microsoft opens up Office 365 Android SDK

Microsoft has released the Office 365 software development kit for Android. With this, Microsoft is now opening up its SharePoint lists and files, Exchange contacts, mails and calendars to developers. Microsoft has made the preview available for download straight from GitHub.

Lenovo launched the Vibe Z, the company’s latest flagship in India last month for Rs. 35,999. The smartphone is now available for pre-order from the official store for Rs. 34,999. It also offers a free Z smart touch cover worth Rs. 2,039 with the smartphone.  It a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS  display at 400 PPI, powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Vibe ROM on top. Karbonn to introduce new start screen interface for its smartphones based on Start by Celltick

Celltick, popular for its Start and LiveScreen, today announced its partnership with Karbonn Mobiles to launch an intelligent interface for Android consumers based on Start. The company already announced that OEMs can partner with them to create own flavor of Start. Celltick will create a custom interface based on its Start application, that becomes a default start screen interface to Karbonn’s Android smartphones. Oppo confirms two variants of Oppo Find 7 are coming

Oppo has used its Twitter account very efficiently to keep its fans guessing about what to expect from their next flagship. It was through the official Twitter account that they teased that Oppo Find 7 would be coming with a 2K display sporting a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. They also used Twitter to announce that they will be unveiling the next generation Oppo flagship in an event on March 19.

HTC Desire 310 with 4.5-inch display, new design announced in China

The HTC Desire 310, the company’s latest budget phone with a MediaTek processor surfaced on the official website, back in January before it was taken down. Now the smartphone has appeared on HTC’s Chinese website with the model number 310w. This has a different design compared to the global variant of the smartphone. Other specifications are completely similar, including a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1.3 GHz Quad-core Mediatek MT6582M processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Huawei reportedly has a 2K smartphone in the works

Huawei is a company known to push boundaries as they were the first to introduce a 6inch + device in the form of Huawei Ascend Mate. Ever since, they have been lagging behind other Chinese manufacturers, but things are looking good now. Chinese manufacturer Oppo was the first company to come up with a 5inch Full HD smartphone in the form of Oppo Find 5 and they would have wanted to continue the being first in displays race with the Oppo Find 7, but that wasn’t the case. Vivo XPlay 3S is the world’s first smartphone to feature a 2K display sporting a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. According to rumors, Huawei also has plants to compete in the pixel race and is reportedly working on its own version of a 2K display smartphone.

Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The phone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8228) ARM Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz with Adreno 305 GPU. Sony Socialife News app now available to all Android smartphones

Sony Socialife or Sony’s news app that comes per-loaded on Xperia smartphones, is not exclusive to Xperia smartphones anymore. The Japanese manufacturer has released the app on Google Play for all Android smartphones running on Android 4.1 or later. The app crossed 10 million downloads recently, which now has over 13 million downloads, says the company. Looks like it is still exclusive to Sony Xperia tablets.
