BSNL launches free incoming national roaming packs starting from Rajasthan

After MTNL, the State Owned Telecom Operator, BSNL has started rolling out free roaming plans starting from Rajasthan. Unlike MTNL, this service is not free on BSNL. Prepaid customers have to purchase special tariff vouchers (STVs) to avail free incoming calls while roaming across the country. BSNL and MTNL reportedly launching free roaming plans starting January 26th

BSNL, State Owned Telecom Operator and MTNL would launch new free roaming plans starting from January 26th, according to a recent report from TOI. Videocon Mobile Services was the first operator in India to offer incoming calls free while on roaming on their own network by default, without any processing fee or a special tariff voucher. It also launched new packs later that offer free incoming calls while roaming on other networks. Other operators joined in with cheaper roaming plans starting with free incoming calls while roaming. BSNL Champion SM3512 and SM3513 Android smartphones launched for Rs. 3225 and Rs. 4499

BSNL, State Owned Telecom Operator has partnered with Champion to launch BSNL Champion My Phone SM3512 and SM3513. These phones hava a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen display, powered by a dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). These have a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. These phones also have Dual SIM support and the SM3513 has 3G support. BSNL Penta Smart PS650 and PS501, 6.5-inch and 5-inch Smartphones launched for Rs. 7999 and Rs. 6999

BSNL has partnered with Pantel Technologies Private Limited (PTPL) once again to launch Bharat Phone PF300, a feature phone, Penta Smart phones, PS501 & PS650 and the Penta T-Pad WS707C tablet in India. The Bharat phone PF300 is based on Java and supports mobile banking, tele-medical care delivery and streaming data delivery. The PentaSmart PS650 is the first smartphone with a 6.5-inch screen in India priced under Rs. 10,000, says the company. Both the Penta smartphones are powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and run on Android 4.2. All the Penta Smart devices are pre-loaded with the suite of Anti-Malware offerings from TrustPort. Champion Technologies has partnered with BSNL to launch the Champion, Trendy 531. It has a 5.3-inch display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby and 3G connectivity. The display resolution is not mentioned. BSNL unlimited 3G is back but with 5GB limit in Chennai

BSNL has launched an unlimited 3G plan for pre-paid and post-paid customers in Chennai. This offers speed up to 3.6 Mbps till 5GB, and after that speed would be throttled to 100 Kbps. They offered 3G unlimited iPad plans few months back but stopped it suddenly. This is not a lot but you get unlimited usage even after the 3G data limit. The mysterious story of the Apple iPhone 4S not working in India

If you are one amongst consumers who had purchased the iPhone 4S from outside India and were facing issues getting it to work here , good news for you. Many users including me were seeing no signal bars on the iPhone 4S in India. Calls and SMS were not working.Surprisingly 3G data was working fine on most operators including Airtel , Vodafone and BSNL. I had tried using some international SIM cards such as AT&T, T-Mobile , O2 UK, 3 UK, SmarTone (HK). BSNL launches Voice & Video Telephony (VVOIP) in India

BSNL today launched it’s Voice and Video Telephony service –  VVOIP in India. IP to IP voice calls within India will cost 40 paise per minute and IP to IP video calls within India will cost Rs.2 per minute. Monthly charges for using this service will be Rs.150. International calls seem really cheap at just 1.2 paise per minute if we go by the release . BSNL has launched this service in partnership with Sai InfoSystem (India) Ltd. (SIS).

BSNL 3G Tariffs Revised, get 250MB at Rs.100 , 22GB at Rs.2000

BSNL has revised it’s 3G data tariffs and also introduced 2 new plans for both Prepaid and Postpaid users. For Prepaid users there is a new plan offering 250MB of free usage at Rs.100 and 22GB of free usage at Rs.2000. Both data plans comes with a validity of 30 days.
