Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 6 Pro the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the Redmi series, as it had promised. It packs a 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch, is powered by Snapdragon 625 with up to 4GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI on top, a 12-megapixel rear camera with flash along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portraits and AI scene detection. There is also a 5-megapixel front camera with AI portrait and AI Face unlock.
After postponing Shanghai IPO, Xiaomi today confirmed that it will list in Hong Kong first offering a total of 2,179,585,000 Shares (subject to the Over-allotment Option), comprising initially 108,980,000 Hong Kong Offer Shares (subject to adjustment) and 2,070,605,000 International Offer Shares (subject to adjustment and the Over-allotment Option). The offer price range is from HK$17 to HK$22 per share, so the company could raise anywhere between US$ 4.72 billion and US$ 6.1 billion. Xiaomi is all set to introduce the Mi Pad 4 along with the Redmi 6 Pro smartphone on June 25th. Yesterday the company teased the Redmi 6 Pro smartphone in several images, and the specifications were revealed as well. Xiaomi has launched Mi Pocket Speaker 2, the company’s latest portable speaker in India on the World Music Day. The 5W speaker created in partnership with Germany’s popular brand Tymphany has a minimal design made of aluminium with an anodized oxide coating and PC + ABS for durability, fabric net design for clear sound with perfect bass and treble, features an LED indicator, uses Bluetooth 4.1 and promise up to 7 hours of continuous music playback. Xiaomi is all set to introduce the Redmi 6 Pro smartphone on June 25th, now the company has teased the smartphone in several images. A Chinese website has also shared unboxing images of the smartphone and also confirms that the 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX486 along with a secondary Samsung S5K5E8 sensor for AI portrait shots, same as the Redmi 6,. The company already confirmed Snapdragon 625 SoC and a 4000mAh battery for the smartphone in the teaser. Xiaomi has achieved a new milestone by opening its 1000th authorized service center in India in Hyderabad. This includes 500 service centers for Mi TV. It opened its 500th service center in Bengaluru back in June last year. Xiaomi’s service centers are now in over 600 cities in 4 years since the company entered India. The company said that it has over 6000 workforce contributing to the service network. Xiaomi has finally scheduled an event for the announcement of Redmi 6 Pro and the Mi Pad 4, successor of last year’s Mi Pad 3 in China on June 25th. The Mi 6 Pro will have a 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch, AI powered dual rear cameras, Snapdragon 625 and a 4000mAh battery, as mentioned in the invite, and the Mi Pad 4’s back is teased in the invite and the company also confirms that it will have an 8-inch display.
Update: Image of the phone is out on TENAA in Gold and Rose gold colors that reveals a unibody metal design, dual rear cameras, fingerprint sensor on the back and flash for the front camera.
Xiaomi has introduced Mi Router 4Q, the company’s latest budget router and the successor of Mi Router 3C that was launched in India last year. It is a 802.11 b/g/n single-band router, same as the 3C, but this has 3 omni-directional antennas, and supports up to 450Mbps transmission speed, thanks to 3X3 MIMO and Qualcomm QCA9561 processor.
Xiaomi launched Mi A1 back in Sep 2017 under Android One programme in collaboration with Google with an aim to keep the android version updated for next couple of years. Xiaomi announced 10th iteration of its own proprietary Android skin MIUI in China on 31st May and introduced MIUI 10 Global along with Redmi Y2 at an event on 7th June in India. During the launch event, the company also shared MIUI 10 Global Beta roll-out schedule. As per the schedule, MIUI 10 Global Beta roll-out will begin in mid-June.
