After a leak last week, Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi Go, the company’s first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone in Phillipines officially. It has a 5-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 425 SoC with 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE with dedicated SIM slots and a 3000mAh battery.

Get Android 9.0 Pie on Redmi Note 5 Pro with OxygenOS 9.0 port

Xiaomi’s MIUI is amongst the most popular Android skins with more than 300 million worldwide users. MIUI is a heavy skin on top of Android skin that offers various customizations but brings a good amount of bloat as well. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro was amongst the best selling devices launched in 2018 but it runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) based MIUI 10 as of now. As per an official announcement, Redmi Note 5 Pro is expected to get Android 9.0 (Pie) in Q1 2019 but the public beta testing for the MIUI Global ROM hasn’t started yet.

After rumors, Xiaomi’s first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone is all set to be introduced soon starting from Philippines soon, as the company has started teasing it. Xiaomi’s official partner Lazada has listed the phone with complete specifications that reveals a 5-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 425 SoC with 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE with dedicated SIM slots and a 3000mAh battery.

Xiaomi rolls out final MIUI 10.2 update for Redmi Note 3

Redmi 1S, Redmi Note/Prime, Redmi 2/Prime were the devices which redefined their respective price segments back in 2014-15 and helped Xiaomi becoming an established player in India but it was Redmi Note 3 that paved the way towards making company India’s No. 1 smartphone brand. The device is almost three years old now and so, Back in December, Xiaomi announced that MIUI 10.2 will be the last update for the devices including Redmi Note 3 and Mi 5. Last year, it dropped software support for some devices including Redmi 1S, Redmi Note 4GRedmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Mi 4i that were launched in 2015 or before. Xiaomi shows off dual-side foldable smartphone in official video

After a leak earlier this month, Xiaomi has officially teased its foldable smartphone in a video. Xiaomi co-founder and President Lin Bin said that the phone has been developed after several technical problems inflexible folding screen technology,  four-wheel drive folding shaft technology, flexible cover technology, and adapting MIUI to the foldable screen.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro expected to be powered by Snapdragon 675

At the Redmi Note 7 launch event last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro soon with Sony IMX586 sensor replacing the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor on the Redmi Note 7. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 675, according to new reports from China. The Redmi Note 7 uses Snapdragon 660. New SoC and camera sensor might bump up the price of the smartphone slightly.

Xiaomi showcases bigger in-display fingerprint scanner with one-click unlocking

Last year Xiaomi introduced Mi 8 Explorer Edition and later in the year it introduced Mi 8 Pro with pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor that is 29% faster. This week President Lin Bin shared the next-generation in-display fingerprint on a Mi 8 test unit. He said that the company has worked for more than half an year to bring one-click unlocking and a larger unlocking area. Xiaomi begins MIUI 11 development, says it will be new and unique

Xiaomi introduced MIUI 10 at its Mi 8 launch event back in May last year in China. Xiaomi Redmi 6 64GB gets a price cut, 32GB version back to original price in India

After announcing price cuts for Mi A2Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Y2 and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones, Xiaomi has announced a price cut for Redmi 6 smartphone in India. The 3GB+32GB version is back to the original price of Rs. 7999, after a price hike by Rs. 500. The 64GB storage version that was launched for Rs. 9499 has received a Rs. 500 price cut and is available for Rs. 8999. It is available at new rates on Flipkart, Mi.com and offline stores.
