Samsung Electronics, one of the largest supplier of memory technology in the world, has begun mass production of their LPDDR5 UFS-based multichip package (uMCP) smartphone memory solution. These chips combine both LPDDR5 DRAM with the latest UFS 3.1 NAND flash, to provide improved memory performance for a wide-range of smartphones.
Update: Samsung has confirmed the launch of Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite in India on June 18th, and the tablets will go on sale on June 23rd. Both these were introduced last month. The Tab S7 FE features a 12.4-inch WQXGA display with 60Hz refresh rate, is powered by Snapdragon 750G SoC, features an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, has S Pen support with ultra-low latency and magnetic attachment. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE surfaced in press renders last week after the CAD-based renders recently. Earlier rumours said that the Galaxy S21 FE will be introduced at an Unpacked event tentatively scheduled on August 19th. Yesterday, a report from South Korea’s ETNews said that the company has halted the production of the phone due to global chip shortage, but the article has been taken down. Update: Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy M32 will launch in India on June 21st. It also said that the BINGEMONSTER will be the best in the segment with FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate. It also says that this is compared to phones with 60Hz OLED displays in the 10 to 15k segment, which hints that this might start in a similar price range. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has surfaced in press renders ahead of launch, thanks to @evleaks. This comes after the CAD-based renders that surfaced back in April. The phone looks similar to the S21, sans the metal housing and a metal frame. The new renders show the phone in Black, White, Lilac Purple and Olive Green colours. The Galaxy A22 5G packs a 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with Infinity-V notch and 90Hz refresh rate, is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM, has a 48MP rear camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera and 2MP depth sensor. Back in 2019 AMD and Samsung Electronics announced a multi-year strategic partnership to allow Samsung to license AMD graphics IP to use it in its future SoCs. Samsung later confirmed its plans to launch SoCs with AMD Radeon graphics as early as 2021. Specifications of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 series has surfaced in Korea. This reveals three models —Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra, respectively. All these are said to feature 120 Hz refresh rate screen, and the S8 is said to include an 11-inch LCD screen with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, S8+ with a 12.4-inch Super AMOLED display and the S8 Ultra with a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with up to 92% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to minimal bezels. It packs an 8.7-inch WXGA+ TFT LCD screen, is powered by an Octa-core SoC which should be an MediaTek Helio P22T SoC paired with up to 4GB RAM, 8MP autofocus rear camera and a 2MP front camera.
