OnePlus launched the ‘OnePlus 7T’ and ‘OnePlus 7T Pro’ last year and leaks and rumours have been surfacing on the next version i.e., OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. This time around there have been leaks on a cheaper version of the OnePlus 8 i.e., OnePlus 8 Lite. OnePlus has released an incremental OS update to the OnePlus 6 and 6T that fixes multiple small system wide bugs like black screens appearing after unlocking the device with a fingerprint, device heating issues when charging, random disconnection issue with 5Ghz Hotspot and more. There are also fixes to the camera, specifically the camera crash issues and image preview times in the Pro mode.

OnePlus at its 2020 Screen Technology event introduced Quad HD+ OLED ‘Fluid Display’ with a refresh rate of 120Hz, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit HDR, as it had promised. At the event it said that it accounted for 77% of the domestic sales of 90Hz refresh rate phones online. OnePlus said that each screen is calibrated at the factory for accurate colors with RGB color temperature sensor with <0.8 Just Noticeable Color Difference (JNCD) rating. OnePlus has sent out invites in China for introducing new 2020 screen technology on January 13. The company has not revealed any details about the event. Based on rumors we can expect 120Hz refresh rate screen, an upgrade from 90Hz screen its current flagships.
