Lenovo HX03 Cardio and HX03F Spectra water-resistant smart bands with heart rate sensor launched in India for Rs. 1999 and Rs. 2299

Lenovo today announced two new smart bands – HX03 Cardio and HX03F Spectra. Both these have heart rates sensor, are water-resistant and come with OLED Monochrome and TFT-LCD color screens, respectively that shows activity, time, date, heart rate and more.

Lenovo ThinkPad T, X and L series laptops launched in India starting at Rs. 54000

Lenovo K5 and K5 Play with 5.7-inch full-screen display, dual rear cameras, fingerprint sensor announced

Along with the S5, Lenovo also introduced K5 and K5 Play, budget smartphones in the ‘K Series’ in China. Both these have a 5.7-inch HD+ full-screen display, dual rear cameras, glass back, fingerprint sensor on the back and a 3000mAh battery. The K5 is powered by MediaTek MT6750 SoC and the K5 Play is powered by Snapdragon 430 SoC. Lenovo just announced S5, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘S Series’, as it had promised. It has a 5.7-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display, is powered by Snapdragon 625 with up to 4GB RAM, runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) with ZUI 3.7 on top and U-Touch 4.0 for gesture interaction, has 13-megapixel dual rear cameras, one with monochrome lens and the other one with RGB lens for capturing portrait shots and has dual-tone LED flash. Lenovo S5 with dual rear cameras, metal body teased, will take on Xiaomi Redmi Note 5

Earlier this week Lenovo announced that it will introduce the next ‘S series’ smartphone on March 20th, which is expected to be Lenovo S5. Today  Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun announced on weibo that the powerful Redmi Note 5 (that was launched asRedmi Note 5 Pro in India) with Snapdragon 636 and 6GB RAM will launch in China on March 16th. Quoting this, the company’s CEO Chang Cheng posted that wait till March 20th.

Lenovo recalls some ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptops over fire hazard concern

Lenovo has announced a recall of 83,500 (78,000 in the U.S. and 5,500 in Canada) ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th Generation laptops (with machine type  20HQ, 20HR, 20K3 or 20K4), manufactured between December 2016 and October 2017 over concerns of  fire hazard. It said that it has worked with United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for voluntary recall of these laptops. Microsoft introduces Windows 10 educations laptops starting at $189

Microsoft today in association with Lenovo and JP unveiled low-cost windows 10 and Windows 10 S education laptops from Lenovo and JP, starting at just $189 (Rs. 12,050 approx.). The company is also said to bring new capabilities to Office 365 for Education software, and STEM learning fun with a new Chemistry update to Minecraft. Lenovo Miix 630 Hands On

Lenovo has partnered with Qualcomm and Microsoft to launch a Snapdragon powered Always Connected PC – Miix 630 at CES 2018.  HP and Asus launched their products in December last year at the Snapdragon Summit.  I got my hands on the Miix 630 2-1 detachable and it is a pretty nice effort by Lenovo.
