YouTube for Android gets offline mode in India

Back in September at the Android One event Google announced that YouTube will get offline playback in India. Now the feature is available for YouTube for Android in India. This lets you add videos to watch it offline by selecting an icon below the video or by selecting Add to Offline from a video’s context menu. Once added, an available offline icon will be displayed below the video. There is a separate playlist called Offline, to view all the videos that are saved offline. Google Nexus 6 made by Motorola went on pre-order in India on Flipkart last month priced at Rs. 43,999 for the 32GB variant and Rs. 48,999 for the 64GB variant. Today Google and Motorola officially launched the Nexus 6 smartphone at the Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) event in India. The Nexus 6 comes in Midnight Blue and Cloud White colors. As announced previously, it comes with offers from Flipkart that includes, up to Rs. 10,000 discount in exchange for old smartphones, 3 months Flipkart First subscription, Rs. 1500 cash back for HDFC/ICICI credit card users for  6, 9 and 12 month EMI and free pre-selected Flipkart eBooks worth Rs. 2100. Google Nexus 9 16GB WiFi variant goes on sale on Amazon in India for Rs. 28900 [Updated]

Google unveiled the Nexus 9 tablet made by HTC back in October. It got priced at Rs. 28,900 for the 16GB WiFi variant and Rs.44,900 for the 32GB LTE variant on the Google Play Store in India last month. Now the 16GB WiFi Indigo Black variant of the Nexus 9 is on sale on Amazon.in at the same price of Rs. 28,900. The LTE variant is also expected to go on sale soon. O2 have stolen a march on its rivals by launching the new Google Nexus 6 in the UK a few days ahead of Carphone Warehouse. The handset is available on O2’s Refresh tariff and is available to both new and existing customers. The retailer is offering a special deal on the handset, offering unlimited minutes and texts with 2GB data each month for £38 per month. Google releases Android 5.0.1 factory images, pushes AOSP builds

Almost three weeks after releasing the OTA updates and pushing Android 5.0 (Lollipop) factory images, Google has released factory images for Android 5.0.1 for the Nexus 9, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 (2013) and also pushed the same to AOSP. There is no official changelog for this minor update, but according to a commenter over at the Android Police, this update is to fix a bug that could cause stray input on the lock screen to erase everything on the device.
