Apple iPhone XR teardown reveals large rectangular battery, modular SIM card reader

Apple iPhone XR smartphone went on sale few hours back in over several countries and territories globally. As usual, folks at iFixit have already managed to grab the iPhone and have given at a teardown treatment as usual. We already know that the iPhone XR has a 2942mAh battery. The teardown reveals an 11.16Wh battery (2,944 mAh at 3.79V), which is bigger than the iPhone XS’s battery, but it is slightly smaller than the 3,179mAh battery on the iPhone XS Max. It is thicker since it packs more juice.

Apple and Samsung fined $5.7 million each by Italian anti-trust watchdog over slowing down phones

Italy’s anti-trust watchdog has fined Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics 5 million euros ($5.7 million) each over reports suggesting both the companies slowed down their phones through software updates. the Cupertino company was hit with an additional 5 million euro fine for failing to give clear information about how to maintain or eventually replace handset batteries. Apple to introduce iPad Mini, iPad Pro, AirPods 2 with Hey-Siri, updated MacBooks and more on October 30th: Kuo

Apple has scheduled an event on October 30th but ahead of the launch, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared some details on what to expect from the event as well as information on other products that we might see from Apple in late 2018 or early 2019. Apple introduced the iPhone XR last month, and as promised the company started pre-orders for the smartphone in several countries, including India. The phone will go on sale in 50 countries from October 26 at Rs. 76,900 (MRP) for 64GB, Rs. 81,900 (MRP) for 128GB and Rs. 91,900 (MRP) for 256GB through Apple Authorised Resellers as well as online stores.
