WhatsApp has rolled out a new update to iPhones bringing the version number to 2.18.51. While the update also includes bug fixes, it brings two major features on board; Facebook and Instagram integration with picture-in-picture mode. It is now fully GDPR compliant, meaning that it will ask users to confirm if they are at least 16 years old when they are prompted to agree to new terms of service and privacy policy. A new mysterious bug found on the WhatsApp is causing the app to crash, it is the black dot emoji that when touched crashes or freezes the app. It is not tapping the emoji that causes the crash as much as what lies underneath it, meaning that tapping anywhere on the message; “<⚫> 👈🏻 can’t touch this” can trigger the bug. WhatsApp today announced that it is raising the minimum age to use their services from 13 to 16 in Europe ahead of the new privacy law changes. These new data law changes come into force next month. In the next few weeks, WhatsApp will ask users to confirm if they are at least 16 years old when they are prompted to agree with new terms of service and a privacy policy provided by a new WhatsApp Ireland Ltd entity. WhatsApp is now rolling out ‘dismiss as admin’ feature for Android and iOS which is long overdue. WhatsApp was first found testing this feature back in January 2018. This feature will let group administrators demote other admins, but group creators can’t be dismissed from being an admin. WhatsApp is currently working on improving its Change number feature on iOS, Android and Windows phone. When someone gets a new number or changes his number on WhatsApp, it migrates the data to the new number preserving the chat history and will be automatically gets added to the groups that the old number is present and notifies group members.
