WhatsApp for iOS extends ‘delete for everyone’ duration to more than an hour

WhatsApp for Android earlier this month got the new extended time for ‘Delete for Everyone’ from 7 minutes or 420 seconds to 4096 seconds which is about 68 minutes and 16 seconds. Now the company has rolled out the same for iOS. WhatsApp with V2.18.31 for iOS and Windows phone also gets the new 1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds for deleting a message. WhatsApp beta for Android with V2.18.69 has extended ‘delete for everyone’ duration from 7 minutes or 420 seconds to 4096 seconds which is about 68 minutes and 16 seconds or 1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds. Along with this, WhatsApp has rolled out two more new beta updates to Android the V2.18.70 that brings fixes to GIF crashes and 2.18.71 adds changes to voice note sending icon in a chat window. German researchers have found a flaw that let’s infiltrate any WhatsApp’s group chats despite end-to-end encryption. Wired reports that the flaws in WhatsApp’s security were discovered at the Real World Crypto security conference in Switzerland. France data privacy watchdog; CNIL has given a 1-month ultimatum to WhatsApp over Facebook data transfers without proper users consent.
