Samsung has announced its first Gear VR headset with controller powered by Oculus at its Mobile World Congress press conference in Barcelona. It’s safe to assume that the new virtual reality product will not only make it easier to consume VR content but will also expand the ecosystem.

Samsung has announced that it is joining hands with Arqiva, communications infrastructure and media services provider to conduct the United Kingdom’s first 5G trials with a focus on Fixed Wireless Access. Depending on who you speak to, wearables and in particular smartwatches are a failed category. The pace of fresh launches has slowed down to a trickle and smartwatches just haven’t quite caught the market by storm the way they were expected to. An over-dependence on a paired phone, little use beyond notifications has made these a tough sell. That said, Samsung’s Gear series of Tizen based smartwatches have consistently pushed the envelope in terms of capabilities. We found last year’s Gear S2 to be a surprisingly good smartwatch with some great ideas. With the Gear S3, the company is kicking things up a notch in terms of design and capabilities.
