Apple has regained the top spot in the wearable market in Q3 2017 with 3.9 million shipments and it is the strongest quarter for Apple in 2017, all thanks to the recently launched Apple Watch 3 with LTE support, reveals a new report from Canalys. Samsung is still leading the top five smartphone vendors in the world which is followed by Apple and Huawei. According to Canalys, Apple’s iPhone 7 is the best selling model worldwide with over 13 Million units shipped and the iPhone 6s next to it with 7.9 Million units.
Samsung’s fight with Apple seems to have come to an end at the moment as Supreme court has refused to hear Samsung’s appeal in the case. Backing the circuit court decision reinstating a $120 million penalty for Apple’s patent infringement technologies like slide to unlock and autocorrecting text.

With the last Bixby update, Samsung rolled an option that will disable the Bixby key from firing up Bixby Home when pressed and now with the latest Samsung is making things more permanent. With the latest update, the Bixby button will no longer even wake up the device if it is disabled.

Apple and Samsung will head back again to the district court for yet another iPhone patent damages trial and to determine how much Samsung Electronics Co should pay Apple Inc for copying the look of the iPhone. Judge Lucy Koh, in San Jose, California on Sunday, has signed an order and told both the companies to meet the courtroom again.

it looks like Samsung is currently working on a Dual Wireless Charging Pad something very similar to Apple’s AirPower that was introduced at the iPhone X event. Samsung has filed the patent and had got the approval by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for this new Dual Wireless charging pad. Samsung last year introduced EP-PA710 Qi-based Wireless Charger Tray design that can charge 2 devices wirelessly at once.

Samsung has announced that the 8-nanometer (nm) FinFET process technology, 8nm (Low Power Plus) has been qualified and is ready for production. The 8nm LPP newest process node will offer 10% lower power consumption and will consume 10% less area through narrower metal pitch compared to the 10LPP.

Samsung at the on-going Developers conference in San Fransico announced the Bixby 2.0. Bixby is the Samsung’s voice assistant that was introduced along with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ earlier this year to compete against the Google’s Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa.
