In a bid to give Uber a tough competition, ride hailing service Ola might launch a new subscription-based model in the country. According to a new report from Tech in Asia, the service is dubbed as Ola Exclusive and will allow consumers to avail post-paid billing services.

Google Maps adds support for Ola in India

Google Maps is expanding integration of five new ride hailing services across the world into its apps. The service is adding Ola Cabs in India, 99Taxis in Brazil, Hailo in the UK and Spain, mytaxi in Germany and Spain, and Gett in the UK.

Ola, Didi Kuaidi, Lyft and GrabTaxi have teamed up to create a global ridesharing partnership. The four major regional taxi aggregators have formed an alliance in order to offer seamless coverage for travelers in India, China, Southeast Asia and the US.

Ola secures $500 million in funding, now valued at over $5 billion

After last month’s report that Ola had secured an investment of an undisclosed amount from Chinese ride-hailing company Didi Kuaidi, Falcon Edge, GIC, Tiger Global Management, and SoftBank are other investors, the company yesterday confirmed $500 million in Series F funding, which now values it at over $5 billion.
