The Karnataka government has ordered cab aggregators Uber and Ola to put a halt to their respective ride sharing services by Thursday, February 2nd. The state transport department have termed Uber Pool and Ola Share services as illegal.

Ola gets licence to operate in Karnataka
Ola has obtained licence under the Karnataka On-demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules 2016. The homegrown cab aggregator was able to obtain the license after registering and providing the necessary information of 100 vehicles to the transport department.

Earlier on Thursday, Uber and Ola rolled out uberMoto and Ola Bike motorbike ride hailing services in India. However, the service which piloted in Bangalore is being called as illegal by the Karnataka State Transport Department.
