The phone also feature Web TV, HDMI connectivity and USB OTG. The phone also comes with Social Networking integration which keeps you in touch with your friends.Β  We are sure you will feel hungry after looking at these pics shot with the N8’s Camera. @MichaelxHell’s Nokia N8 Hands-on Impressions Part 1: Hardware

It’s been very quiet around Nokia the last few months. After the big N-Series failures from the last Years (N97, N96, N85, N76 etc) a lot of people, me included, turned away from Nokia, jumping ship to either Android or Apple. And for a good reason i must say, i’ve experienced Android with a HTC Hero that i bought via Contract and i must say i was impressed. And it continued with the Hero from there, with Android gaining a lot of strength. However, as much as i love the look and feel of Android, i missed the allround capabilities of a Nokia Phone. I’m a multimedia guy, always been, so N-series have always been my choice. I always had love for the Android OS, but not so much for the Devices. HTC puts in some pretty neat internals in the phone, however misses a good camera or decent speakers. Sony Ericsson had okay (although plasticy) hardware, but their OS failed. I have yet to try any LG products, but you see from my Points that, no matter how good the OS is, i always missed the decent hardware. Symbian^1 may look and feel outdated, but the Hardware is what always made me come back to Nokia. Apart from that, the Community that Nokia has built is still unmatched and can never be beaten. This of course not only comes from their devices and its fans, a lot of the following also comes due to marketing stunts from wellknown british PR agency 1000 heads/WOM World Nokia.

However, there was still something missing. As good as Devices like the N900, the X6 16GB or even the N97mini were, i still had days where i went back to my Nokia N82, especially when on the road and i wanted to share some great pics. Now if you note, my N82 is more than 2 years old and still going strong. It’s been 2 years, since Nokia brought out a decent device for hobby photographers like myself. Yes there is the N86, but what did it really bring to the table? An 8 megapixel, carl zeiss equipped Camera, but with a dual LED flash. As good as the device was in daylight conditions, how could they even dare to label it as next photography device!? As soon as the sun went down, the N86 was just another phone with a dual LED. Pictures: Blue Nokia N8 compared to N900 and X6

As reported before, I was lucky enough to get invited to a special little Blogger event, hosted by Nokia Austria. We have been shown and demoed the Nokia N8, the latest photography flagship from Finland. Since the Device were still in proto status, we weren’t allowed any exhaustive hands-on times, but the bit we got to see really impressed. I was lucky enough to grab one of those N8’s and quickly shoot some size comparisons, with a Nokia N900 and a X6 16GB. Enjoy the Pictures!

Exclusive Video: Nokia N8 operated via Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse!

I’m sure you have already seen quite a lot of the Nokia N8’s Features. I managed to get my hands on it again, and to be honest, the release date can’t come soon enough. Top Notch hardware, phenomenal camera unit and a very noticable faster Symbian^3 made up for a great hands-on experience. Obviously, i won’t talk much into the Software yet, since this is all in proto status. But trust me, its a lot faster than all other phones before. Symbian and Nokia show us with the N8 what is poossible without any high-end specs, which is a great thing.

One thing that also comes as a first on the N8 is the Ability to connect Bluetooth Input Devices to the Phone – and work with it!! In our Case, me and Christoph (from Nokia Austria, thanks again) have used a Logitech Bluetooth Mouse and good ol’ Nokia SU-8W, a Bluetooth Keyboard. How its done? it’s as simple as connecting a BT Headset, enter Bluetooth Menu, search for input devices, choose, enter the 4-digit-code, done. Once the Mouse is connected, there is a small Mouse Pointer visible, and there you go. You can even use the right mouse button to go back to Home Screen, even scrolling is possible. Connect your N8 to a TV, couple it with your Keyboard and Mouse, and answer your mails right from the big Screen!! How about that!?

The possibilities are endless, its up to you to realize them πŸ™‚

Exclusive: Tons of Pictures of Nokia N8 darkgrey and green!!

I finally had my Hands on shiny new Nokia N8s lately, and boy was I impressed. First of, I wanna thank Nokia Austria for giving me a nice Demo of the Device, and even better, allowed to snap a full Picture Gallery. Β The Green N8 actually looked very nice, darkgrey looked quite odd in Comparison.

Nokia N8 Music and Video Playback

We had the chance to check out the Nokia N8 at Nokia Connection 2010 and we must say the phone feels great to grip. Finally full metal on a N-series device. The large screen (not as large as the HTC EVO 4G) but pretty good for a Nokia. Music playback is pretty loud considering there is only one speaker on the rear below the camera. The Cover flow animations are pretty cool but looks to have been inspired by Apple. Continue reading “Nokia N8 Music and Video Playback”

Video : Nokia N8 Photo and Video Editing Demo

Nokia has posted a new video which shows the Photo and Video editing features in the upcoming Nokia N8. It does look impressive although a bit slow. We are okay with that considering this is a prototype. But finally cropping , editing 12 MP photos right on your phone would be cool for sure.

Nokia N8 USB OTG Demo with PenDrive

The Nokia N8 has a USB OTG (On-The-Go)Β  which means that you can connect pendrives or small hardrives via the microUSB-USB cable to the Phone. Here is a video in which a Pen Drive is connected to the phone and also another phone a Nokia C5 and both show up as Mass Storage within the FileManager . Pretty Cool eh ?
