Samsung and Micromax have had a lot of success in the Indian smartphone market. Today we have Micromax’s latest flagship device – Canvas 4 and Samsung’s very famous smartphone in India – Galaxy Grand (GT-I9082). The Canvas 4 was launched in early July while Galaxy Grand was released way back in January earlier this year. Despite having a familiar 5inch display and similar price points, both the devices are different in their own terms. Lets check out how they differ and which is better.

We’ve been playing with the Micromax Canvas 4 ever since we unboxed it, and if you had noticed our YouTube channel, we have a lot of coverage in terms of gameplay videos, gaming review, and of course the unboxing too. Micromax has launched the Canvas 4, the company’s latest flagship smartphone. The company stared teasing the phone in photos and videos last month and it went on pre-order at the end of last month and it says that the phone has got about 4000 pre-orders in the first 24 hours. The Canvas 4 has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with corning gorilla glass protection, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with Dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Micromax smartphones. Micromax is launching the next major phone in the Canvas series today in New Delhi and is also broadcasting a live stream of the launch event. Micromax is expected to give us all the details of the much anticipated Canvas 4 today including the exact specifications and the market price. The phone is expected to have a interesting unlock feature and might feature a gesture based interaction.

The successor to the very popular Micromax Canvas HD is almost here and the company is all set to launch the handset on 8th July. Micromax has also started prebookings for the Canvas 4 A210. Not much has been revealed in terms of specifications but the handset is expected to be powered by a MediaTek quad core processor. Previous leaks suggest that the phone will be equipped with a 13MP rear camera which is unprecedented in the indigenous smartphone segment. Additionally and perhaps most importantly, the phone is believed to sport a 5 inch Full HD display. As suggested by the image above, there will be no capacitive buttons on the phone. First press images of the Micromax Canvas 4 has surfaced online. The phone was first teased by Micromax on their Facebook page. Later videos of the phone appeared on the official Micromax YouTube channel that revealed the design of the phone. It also revealed that the phone would feature a 13-megapixel camera. It was only yesterday when Micromax had started the teaser campaign in Facebook for its upcoming flagship device, the Micromax Canvas 4, and as a follow up, they have released two teaser videos in their YouTube channel showing off the device in (almost) full glory. The design revealed, bears a close resemblance to some other phones we have seen, but it does seems to have an aluminium frame and the 13 Megapixel camera unit was proudly boasted in the first teaser video. The Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2 was the phone that kickstarted a new range of big screened smartphones from Micromax, and after the success of the Canvas HD, Micromax seems ready for yet another device, called the “Canvas 4”.
