BlackBerry sues Nokia over patent infringement

BlackBerry has filed a patent infringement suit against Nokia. The Canadian smartphone maker is alleging that Nokia’s mobile products like Flexi Multiradio base stations, radio network controllers, and Liquid Radio software are using its patents. BlackBerry is demanding royalties for these products.

BlackBerry partners Optiemus Infracom to make smartphones in India

BlackBerry has inked a deal with Optiemus Infracom to licence software and services for the production of Android handsets in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. Under the terms of the agreement, BlackBerry will licence its security software and services suite, as well as related brand assets to Optiemus Infracom Ltd, a Delhi-based telecom enterprise.

BlackBerry Hamburg could be a TCL-made Android smartphone

Earlier in April this year it was rumored that BlackBerry will release two mid-range smartphones codenamed Hamburg (with full touch screen) and Rome (with a physical keyboard and a touchscreen) by the end of this year. A smartphone that was spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance’s website is seen to be manufactured by China’s TCL that produces the Alcatel line of smartphones.
