YouTube picture-in-picture will be available to all Android users

YouTube TV introduced a picture-in-picture mode with Android 8.0 Oreo back in November and has also extended to its Premium and Music services. The videos are minimised to a corner to let you keep watching while browsing around other apps. However, it now seems to be rolling out to non-paying YouTube users.

YouTube starting today is adding artist, songwriter, label and publisher credits to videos. It will answer those questions with “Music in this video” crediting the one who contributed to the music. The company is adding credits to more than half a billion videos.

At the Google I/O event, the company announced its digital well-being initiative to help people better understand their digital habits. One inclusion to this initiative is ‘Take a break’ self-set timer within YouTube to refrain users from spending too much time watching videos. Earlier this month there were reports that YouTube for Kids is getting a new Whitelisted version and today, the company is rolling a bunch of new features that fall in line with the reports. Parents now get the ability only to show human-approved content.

YouTube’s dynamic player was available on iOS since December, and now it is rolling out to Android as well. The dynamic player will automatically adjust according to content in different aspect ratios. 

YouTube will soon let you go live directly from your smartphone camera

YouTube just made it easy to go live both from your computer and phone. Earlier to go live on YouTube using an encoder, it needed few steps to do so, today, the company is making it easy just by clicking “Go live” in the YouTube header or directly visit the youtube.com/webcam.
