Earlier this month, telecom operators Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and Reliance Jio revised prepaid tariffs and later announced unlimited calling to all networks across the country. Post that yesterday, Reliance Jio launched the 2020 Happy New Year offer and now on similar lines, BSNL has announced recharge offers for Rs. 1999 annual plan.
Back in September 2018, BSNL got approval from the Indian Government for 4G services, but the rollout has been gradual. In order to lift the air of uncertainty over both BSNL and MTNL, now, the Government of India has approved BSNL-MTNL merger and has announced the allocation of 4G spectrum alongside clearing relief package.

Amazon and BSNL today announced a partnership, under which select BSNL postpaid and broadband customers will get the Amazon Prime Membership for a year free of cost. Airtel in the past had announced similar partnership by offering free prime membership to select postpaid customers.

Micromax today launched Bharat-1, the company’s first 4G VoLTE feature phone in partnership with State-owned telecom operator BSNL to take on Reliance Jio’s JioPhone. It also comes with unlimited calling & unlimited data offer from BSNL at Rs. 97 per month, but the phone can be used on any network unlike the JioPhone.

State owned telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has announced that it is now offering up to 4 times extra 3G data at Rs.36 per GB with existing STVs in the market to compete with other operators, including Reliance Jio.
Vodafone and state owned telecom service provider, BSNL have signed 2G intra-circle roaming agreement to use each other’s assets and network strength across the country. This will help Vodafone expand its 2G network further, especially in rural areas and will strengthen BSNL’s network reach in urban areas.
BSNL is the latest telecom company that is foraying into 4G and is looking forward to launch services in 14 telecom circles, according to a latest report from PTI. The state owned telecom operator has 20 MHz liberalized BWA spectrum in 2500 MHz band in these 14 circles.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has rolled out a pre-paid card linked mobile wallet. Dubbed as Speed Pay, the wallet allows customers to transfer cash, pay for services as well as withdraw cash of up to Rs 1 lakh.
