Cabinet sanctions Rs. 89,047 Crore for BSNL’s 4G, 5G upgrade

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a revival package for BSNL. The package has a total outlay of Rs. 89,047 crore and includes increasing BSNL’s authorized capital from Rs. 1,50,000 crore to Rs. 2,10,000 crore.

BSNL to install 1.12 lakh towers ahead of 4G roll out across India

As promised, BSNL is taking substantial steps to ensure that 4G services are widely available across the country. Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that the 4G telecom network will be rolled out across India soon, with BSNL intending to install nearly 1.12 lakh towers across the country.

BSNL to roll out 4G services across India by September 2022

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) announced that it will roll out its 4G services across India by September 2022. The state-owned telecom company will see around Rs. 900 crore revenue increment in the first year of the rollout, parliament was informed on December 1.

State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) in partnership with Skylotech India has launched satellite-based NB-IoT (Narrow Band-Internet of Things) at the ongoing Indian Mobile Congress 2020. “India will now have access to a ubiquitous fabric of connectivity for millions of yet unconnected machines, sensors and industrial IoT devices,” said the company.
