Azoi, a US-based technology company has launched Wello, a smartphone case, that is also a health monitoring device. It fits into a smartphone, and can measure heart rate, temperature, blood pressure, electrocardiography (ECG), blood oxygenation, lung functions and more. It can pass on gathered information to the Wello app, available for both iOS and Android. It also provides safe and secure remote access, so it can also be used to track the key vitals of family members, says Azoi. HTC Desire 310 with 4.5-inch display, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor officially announced

The HTC Desire 310, the company’s latest budget phone surfaced on the official website, back in January briefly. The Desire 310 with a model number 310w appeared on the company’s Chinese website recently It has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

Lava Iris 503 went on sale back in November last year. The Iris 503e, a budget variant of the Iris 503 is now available from eBay.in. it has a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, unlike the qHD screen on the Iris 503. Other specifications are almost similar, including a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and a Dual SIM support. According to official website, it has a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, but the branding on the back says 5MP. Flipboard acquires Zite, CNN’s News Reader app

In 2011, CNN acquired Zite, a news reader app. The market for News reader app was fast growing at the time and the race is now settling down. Flipboard has emerged as one of the leaders of News reader apps and despite many acquisition offers, Flipboard is still alone and not acquired by any big players. As a turn of events, Flipboard has acquired CNN’s Zite for a deal that could reach as high as 60$ Million.

Google has updated its Gmail app for iPhone and iPad to version 3.0, that brings the most expected background app refresh feature finally. This lets all your Gmail messages pre-fetched and synced, when you open the app. The background app refresh was introduced in the iOS 7. Nokia X Dual SIM Android smartphone listed online in India for Rs. 8499

Nokia unveiled the Nokia X, the company’s first smartphone built on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) at the MWC 2014, few weeks back. Earlier this week online retailer The Mobile Store listed the smartphone at a price tag of Rs. 8,500 with availability date of March 15th. LG L90 to roll out starting this week

LG unveiled the L90, the company’s top-end smartphone in the L Series III line-up last month, and showcased it at the MWC 2013 few weeks back. The company has announced that it would begin rolling out the smartphone globally starting this week. The phone has a 4.7-inch qHD screen, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with LG’s custom UI on top.

IDC predicts a declining trend for PC shipments

With the shipments of smartphones and tablets increasing, the PC industry is facing the heat of this shift. IDC, the company that predicts trends and reports them has reported the decline of PC sales in 2013. According to IDC, this is the most severe contraction in the PC market ever and they predict that it will continue. PC shipments were expected to decline by 10.1% but they declined by around 9.8%.

Huawei Ascend P6 starts getting Android 4.4 KitKat in China

Huawei Ascend P6 was the phone that was supposed to push Huawei into the International market as a notable manufacturer, but it din’t succeed as much as they company would have loved. But nevertheless, it was a great phone with exceptional build quality. The Huawei Ascend P6 was launched with Android 4.2.2 Jellybean on board overlaid by Huawei’s Emotion UI 1.6. Huawei had assured us that they would be upgrading the device to Android 4.4.2 KitKat and true to their word, they have already started rolling out the update in China.

A device codenamed Xiaomi HM 1AC has surfaced on GFXBench with some specifications. According to the benchmarks, it would have a 9.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU and run on custom MiUI ROM based on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). The app has been available on the Store for over two months, looks like they have planned to officially launch it today.
