Microsoft has announced Lumia 950, the company’s latest smartphone at an event today in the New York City. It packs a 5.2-inch (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display, is powered by an hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor and runs on Windows 10. It packs a 20-megapixel autofocus rear camera with ZEISS optics, with 5th Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), triple LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. There is also Lumia 950 Dual SIM, which is a dual SIM variant of the smartphone.
Microsoft has announced that the it is making the Hololens Developer Kit available for developers in Q1 of 2016. The kit for the Windows 10-powered augmented reality device is priced at $3000.

Google started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Nexus devices starting from yesterday. The Nexus devices are yet to receive the over-the-air update, but there are several reports saying that Android One smartphones – Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO Mi-498 and Karbonn Sparkle V are getting the Android 6.0 update in India. Oppo is all set to announce a new device that will be successor of the R7 this month. The Chinese smartphone maker has scheduled an event in Dubai on October 18th where it will announce the Oppo R7s.
Samsung was said to be working on a new powerful SoC dubbed as Exynos M1 and soon it had appeared on Geekbench 3 benchmarks last month. Now, the SoC which is also known as Monngoose M1 has surfaced again in benchmark testings.

Sony Mobile just confirmed Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for a range of smartphones. Meizu announced m2, successor of the Meizu m1 in China back in July. Today the company has announced that it will launch the m2 smartphone in India next week. It packs a 5-inch HD screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 75.6%, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with FlyMe OS 4.5. Coolpad announced back in July that it will launch the a new smartphone with a fingerprint sensor in India soon. Today it has sent an invite for the launch of a new device on October 9th. Apple confirmed last week that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will go on sale in India on October 16th. According to reports, Apple has revealed the pricing for the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus smartphones to the offline retailers. This reveals that the iPhone 6s will start at Rs. 62,000 for the base 16GB version and go up to Rs. 82,000 for the 128GB version, while the iPhone 6s Plus will start at Rs. 72,000 for the 16GB variant and go up to Rs. 92,000 for the 128GB version. It’s been a while since Oppo launched in India however its devices haven’t received as much traction as its sister company, the OnePlus. OnePlus introduced the Oneplus One last year and the OnePlus 2 this year and both the devices are quite sought after. It’s hard to say the same thing about Oppo devices. Don’t get me wrong, Oppo makes some really good devices and they actually are willing to take the risk and try something different as seen with the Oppo N1 and N3. However, there is usually something missing or a few faults that are tough to overlook and that has been the biggest chink in its armor. Both the N1 and N3 had innovative rotating camera modules and a few other unique features but one of the biggest drawbacks was the size. The N3 mitigated the size issue and some other faults to a certain extent but wasn’t enough to really impress us. The R7 Plus seems to be the most wholesome product that the company has released in quite some time and while it isn’t a high-end smartphone, it does pack a punch. Let’s dive into the review to take a look at the phone in detail and see whether it finally overcomes the issue that most Oppo smartphones seem to have.
