Acer Aspire S 13 ultra-slim Windows 10 notebook and Aspire R 15 convertible announced

Acer has expanded the lineup of its Aspire series of laptops and introduced a new ultra-slim Aspire S 13 Windows 10 notebook. The company has announced new model for its Aspire R 15 convertible and added new models under the Aspire F Series, Aspire E Series and Aspire ES 15.

First up, the Aspire S 13 is a new addition to the ultra-slim S series notebooks that runs Windows 10 with the option of a 10-point touch display. It is powered by 6th Generation Intel Core processors and up to 8 GB of LPDDR3 system memory. The notebook sports a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS display and users can choose from i3, i5 and i7 processors. It comes with USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, and an SD card slot. It is just 14.4mm thin and weighs just 1.4kg. The Aspire S 13 sports an optional 54 Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery that lasts up to 13 hours. It features company’s  TrueHarmony sound and Dolby Atmos tech.

Next up, the Aspire R 15 convertible features 6th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 12GB DDR4 memory with fast speed and low power consumption, up to NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics and a reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port. The convertible sports metal top cover with a hairline-brushed finish, and the bottom cover is made of 40% glass fiber and silver particles. It can be laid flat at 180-degrees and the conversion from laptop, tablet, display and tent mode is possible due to the soft-closing hinge design.

It comes with Acer ExoAmp Antenna technology that allows for improved connectivity with an optimized antenna position to avoids system noise and provides a faster, smooth, and stable wireless experience through its metal cover. Users also benefit from rapid connectivity with 2×2 MU-MIMO wireless and extended battery life of up to 9 hours. It delivers innovative Windows 10 features, including Cortana with Voice & Skype for Business Certification, making it more personal and secure. The Aspire R 15 boasts striking visual effects with its IPS display and new Acer Color Intelligence technology. Audio-wise, Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio provide a truly immersive experience, while automatically reversing audio channels according to the orientation and mode of the device.

Acer has also announced Aspire F Series and E series laptops which come equipped with 6th Generation Intel Core processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX950M graphics with GDDR5 VRAM, and DDR4 RAM. Connectivity options on the devices includes a USB Type-C port, 802.11ac MU-MIMO technology. Both the Aspire F and Aspire E Series are powered by Windows 10 and feature Acer ExaColor technology, with meticulously, step-by-step tuned displays bringing out colorful and vivid details, while Acer BluelightShield technology allows people to adjust the screen’s blue-light emission for extended periods of use. Acer TrueHarmony provides immersive and pure sound for entertainment, and Skype for Business certification ensures crisp and clear communication.

Aspire F series is available in Sparkly Silver, Obsidian Black, Indigo Blue, Wine Red, and Marble White color options. The 2016 Acer Aspire E Series is refreshed with seven color options, available in Marble White, Steel Grey, Twilight Purple, Red Copper, Obsidian Black, Rococo Red and Indigo Blue, each model features a metallic horizontal hairline-brush design with a textile pattern.

Finally, Acer introduced the Aspire ES 15 with the latest 6th Generation Intel Core processors, and comes in Midnight Black, Rosewood Red, and Cotton White colors. It features rounded corners, sleek highlights and a textured pattern on the top cover and palm rest.

  • Acer Aspire S 13 will be available in North America in May with prices starting at $699.
  • Acer Aspire R 15 will be available in North America in May with prices starting at $699.
  • Acer Aspire F Series will be available in North America in May with prices starting at $499.
