Qualcomm Technologies has announced new milestones for its Snapdragon 410 and 210 processors. Within the first year of its commercial launch, the Snapdragon 410 processor is now available in more than 550 mobile device designs while 210 processor has been included in more than 200 designs.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 announced, 4 times faster than conventional charging

Qualcomm just announced Quick Charge 3.0, the next-generation fast charging technology. It will be 4X faster than conventional charging, twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and 38% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0, said the company. It will help improve fast charging up to 27% or reduces power dissipation by up to 45% when compared to Quick Charge 2.0. It is also 100% backward-compatible with Quick Charge 1.0 and Quick Charge 2.0 devices and supports a broad range of connectors. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 to feature new X12 LTE modem supporting 600Mbps download speeds
Qualcomm has announced the upcoming X12 LTE modem that will be part of the new Snapdragon 820 processor. Devices based on the newly announced Snapdragon 820 processor are expected to be part of flagship smartphones shipping in first half of 2016. The company made this and a number of other important announcements at the ongoing Qualcomm 3G / LTE summit here in Hong Kong.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime ‘Made in India’ smartphone launched for Rs. 6999

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 2 Prime, the company’s latest budget smartphone that is Made in India. This smartphone is manufactured at Xiaomi and Foxconn facility in Andhra Pradesh. This is the enhanced version of the Redmi 2 that was launched in the country earlier this year. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Other specifications are similar, including a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and 4G LTE with support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India.

Xiaomi ties-up with Foxconn to “Make In India”, rolls out first smartphone from Sri City manufacturing plant

Xiaomi has just launched its first ‘Make in India’ smartphone dubbed the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime. The smartphone was briefly listed by Amazon and Flipkart last week revealing all the specifications. Though the Redmi 2 Prime is only a 2GB RAM variant of the original Redmi 2, the highlight of the smartphone is that it has been manufactured in India at Xiaomi and Foxconn facility in Andhra Pradesh.
Microsoft rolling out firmware update to enable 4G support for some Lumia phones in India

Microsoft India is currently rolling out a minor software update to select Lumia devices to support 4G LTE networks. As Airtel continues to roll out its 4G service across the country Microsoft saw the need to enable 4G radios on devices which have the functionality built into the hardware but lacked the necessary software. So if you are using a Microsoft or Nokia Lumia device which has support for 4G globally, you should update your device to make the jump to 4G. Airtel is launching 4G services in Delhi and NCR this week

India’s leading private telecom operator Airtel is all set to launch 4G trials in the country’s capital city New Delhi and adjoining areas later this week. Airtel bought the spectrum from Qualcomm some time back. The 4G network is expected to go live in New Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) in a few days.

Xiaomi made it’s first major product announcement in India on April 23rd for the Mi 4i which has been developed for over 18 months mainly for India and other nearby markets. The launch saw Hugo Barra, VP Xiaomi Global , unveil the Mi 4i in a market where the company has been operational for barely 9 months.While the company tends to call it a flagship, the Mi 4i is more like a feature rich mid-range smartphone priced extremely well. Xiaomi Mi 16000mAh Power Bank Unboxing

Xiaomi unveiled 16000mAh power bank, larger than its 10400mAh power bank that was launched in India last year. We managed to get one from China since it is not available in India. It has anodised aluminium finish on the outside, similar to the other Mi Power Banks. It is compact, even though it packs 16000mAh battery, but weighs 350 grams.
