The modem could be arriving in Samsung’s Galaxy S6 smartphone, or at least in the international version, which will come with the company’s Exynos SoC. This 3 band LTE Cat. 10 compatible chipset will reportedly be capable of providing speeds of up to 450 Mbps according to the report. This is higher than the maximum 300Mbps speed of the current LTE Cat. 6 standard.

Qualcomm has already announced that it is working on Cat. 10 LTE modem called as the Gobi 9×35 but as per the official specifications, it is not being used in the Snapdragon 810 processor. South Korean mobile operator LG U+ is also developing a tri-band LTE network that could support theoretical speeds of 450Mbps. It is unclear if this new Cat.10 modem will be manufactured by other companies or by Samsung itself.
