The app that was popular for check-in shifted the feature to a new app Swarm in July. Now, the Foursquare app focuses on helping you discover new places to go to, making use of reviews and tags called ‘tastes’ to help cater results to your preferences. It learns from your actions and uses data from previous check-ins and interests. Foursquare can keep users on their platform by offering better recommendations.

As you discover new places, you can leave tips directly within the app and earn expertise. You can also follow people and influencers whose tastes you trust, and their tips show first. Also one can connect Facebook and Twitter accounts and see spots, friends have liked nearby. In addition, the revamped app also integrates Cortana and will suggest near by places.
