India TWS shipments record 723% YoY growth in Q3 2020: Counterpoint

Indian mobile market exports 12.8 million units till September 2020, $1.5 billion in value

Although the COVID pandemic caused significant disruptions, the Indian mobile exports market still managed to ship a total of 12.8 million units, according to a report from techARC. The exports amounted to nearly $1.5 billion in value and the top exporter was Samsung by a large amount.

Samsung adds Google Assistant support for 2020 Smart TV lineup

Samsung has announced that their 2020 lineup of Smart TVs will now support the Google Assistant, giving users quick access to smart home controls, web searches, and apps via voice. The Assistant will be joining the existing suite of voice assistants supported in Samsung Smart TVs, which include Amazon’s Alexa and Samsung’s own Bixby.

Google finally brings Gmail, Drive and Fit iOS and iPad OS widgets; Calendar and Chrome widgets coming soon

With the launch of iOS 14 and iPad OS 14, Apple added support for a feature that existed previously in Android for many years — Widgets in the home screen. While many apps had widgets ready on the day of release, Google only had widgets made for Google Photos and YouTube Music. That is finally changing as Google has now released widgets for Gmail, Drive and Fit.

Samsung rumoured to be working on Galaxy Z Flip Lite with UTG

Samsung has released 3 foldable devices till date (4 if you count the two versions of the original Galaxy Fold) and it certainly does not like they are giving up on this  form factor anytime soon. All three smartphones were definitely on the ultra-luxury budget segment, with the latest Galaxy Z Fold 2 priced at a whopping Rs. 1,49,999 in India. However, this may change soon as Samsung is reportedly working on a Galaxy Z Flip Lite that should be much cheaper.
