Blackberry Curve 8520 : China, Russia calling

It seems RIM is leaving no stone unturned to capitalize on the phenomenon called Blackberry. After announcing higher than expected Q3 2009 Revenue, RIM has announced its plans for other major markets in China and Russia with new handset launch and reduced price plans.

In both the markets RIM is introducing the new slim Blackberry Curve 8520. Apart from being a quad-band EDGE phone with dedicated multimedia keys and excellent social networking tools, the phone features a highly tactile full QWERTY keyboard for comfortable, accurate typing. The phone is WiFi enabled with 4.5 Hours talktime and 17 days standby.

iPhone Sales in China Finally Touches the 100,000 mark

China Unicom today announced that they have now sold more than 100,000 units of iPhone in China since it launched on October 30th 2009. After a very poor start, the iPhone sales seems to have now picked up. But considering the huge subscriber base of China Unicom (144 million subscribers), this number is still very less as compared to the other mobile manufacturers. Nokia joins forces with New Alliance for a joint venture in mobile services in China

Nokia today announced that it has joined forces with New Alliance, an investment company which is part of the Shanghai Alliance Investment Ltd, to form a 50/50 joint venture company which is designed to offer a range of mobile services in China and support the local developer ecosystem.
