Micromax Funbook Talk P360 went on sale online earlier this week for Rs. 7,049. Now the Micromax Funbook Talk P362 is up for sale from online reatiler Saholic in India. Even though it has a 7-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and voice calling support through the SIM card slot, similar to the P360, it has a slightly better single-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Other features are similar including a 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1 GB RAM and a 3000 mAh battery. Micromax A72 Canvas Viva officially launched for Rs. 6499

Micromax has officially launched the A72 Canvas Viva, the company’s latest budget Android smartphone in the budget series. The Micromax A72 surfaced online earlier this week, and went on sale online couple of days back. It packs a 5-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz single-core MediaTek MT6515 processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It ccomes with 2G (EDGE) support, has a 3-megapixel camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Hindi and English language support. Micromax launched the Funbook Talk (P350), a 7-inch tablet with voice calling support last year. Now, the successor, Funbook Talk P360 is now available from online retailer Saholic. Even though this has a similar display and a processor, the new Funbook P360 has a 2-megapixel rear camera, 1GB RAM and a 3000 mAh battery. Micromax Funbook P600 with 3G voice calling and 1 GHz dual-core processor went on sale back in February. Micromax A72 Canvas Viva that surfaced online yesterday, is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 5-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz single-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It ccomes with 2G (EDGE) support, has a 3-megapixel camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Micromax had already launched the Canvas A100 and it’s successor A110 Canvas 2 A110 last year with a 5-inch display. The A116 Canvas HD is the company’s latest flagship that was launched earlier this year.

Micromax is all set to launch the A72 Canvas Viva, dual SIM Android smartphone with a 5-inch display. It has been spotted on Flipkart. Even though this has a large 5-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, it has a 1 GHz single-core processor, runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and comes with 2G (EDGE) support. It has a 3MP camera without flash and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. This would be a budget version of the Micromax A100 and it’s successor Micromax A110, that were launched last year.

Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD, the company’s latest flagship back in January. It was originally priced at Rs. 13990, but they increased the price of the device to Rs. 14,499 few weeks back. We even saw the phone in a new packing, and a matt finish rather than the glossy finish. According to some alleged shots from a Twitter user MMXNewscaster, Micromax is working on the A115 Canvas 3D, which is in the final stage of development. The Micromax A91 Ninja, a new dual SIM Android smartphone is now on sale from online retailer Saholic. It has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP auto focus rear camera and a 0.3 MP (VGA) front-facing camera. This has a TFT LCD display instead of Super AMOLED display in the A90S that was launched last year, but the display resolution and that battery are slightly better. Most of the features are similar to the Karbonn A12 that was launched earlier this year. The Indian smartphone market has recently been seeing an influx of a lot of devices which are big on the screen and specs, while at the same time small on the budget, catering to the exact demand of the market since the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Note. The phablet, as the term goes, means a device is bigger than a phone but smaller than the tablet, fitting right in the middle. This is purely a notion marketed by Samsung with the Galaxy Note, and it has caught up like wildfire among the various entrants in the Indian Smartphone market.

And two of the devices that are a by product of this phablet movement are the Micromax A116 Canvas HD and Samsung’s own Galaxy Grand Duos. Micromax Canvas HD now in stores, with fresh packaging, costs more

Micromax has been in a lot of news recently from unexpected demand for its Canvas Android phones to its legal tussle with Ericsson over patent infringement for over 100 crores .  The company increased the price of Canvas HD A116 to Rs.14499 from Rs.13990 due to increase in customs duty. Now the stocks of the Canvas HD are finally hitting retail stores and we could find it at few retail shops in Chennai. The retail packaging has got a fresh new look.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD Benchmarks

Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD back in January, started selling the device through online retailer Snapdeal starting from February 14th. It has 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 Cortex A7 CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz with PowerVR SGX544 GPU. This was the first phone to launch in India with the quad-core MediaTek processor. We reviewed the device last month, but we didn’t share complete benchmarks of the device back then. Ericsson sues Micromax for Rs. 100 Crores over patent infringement

Ericsson, world’s biggest telecom network equipment maker has sued Micromax over patent infringement regarding wireless technology standards such as GSM, EDGE and 3G, according to a report from Economic Times. Ericsson is calming over Rs 100 crore in damages since Micromax has refused to sign necessary licences for products compliant with the GSM, EDGE, and UMTS/WCDMA standards, after three years of negotiations failed. Micromax A116 Canvas HD shipments delayed, price increased to Rs. 14499

Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor back in January. It was originally priced at Rs. 13990, and the company started selling the device through online retailer Snapdeal starting from February 14th. They sold over 9000 units of the A116 Canvas HD in the first 24 hours, and started taking pre-orders for the device since all the lots were sold out. Micromax launched the A35 Bolt, the company’s first Android smartphone in the Bolt series, last month. Micromax is now getting ready to release the second phone in the series, the A51 Bolt with a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) display. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and packs a 2 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera similar to the A35. It is powered by a 832 MHz Broadcom processor and has 3G support. Micromax A110 Canvas 2 would get the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update next week, according to reports from Tech2. Micromax launched the A110 Canvas 2 last year, and we reviewed it earlier this year. The company’s latest Smartphone  the A116 Canvas HD comes with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, and they already said that it would get the Android 4.2 update eventually.
