Google introduced Google Now cards for Cricket last year during ICC World T20. You might have noticed new Google Now cards related to ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 if you had searched for it or added a cricket team in Google Search. Today Google has announced that it has partnered with Star Sports to offer pre-game videos, in-game highlights, and post-match recaps for the match’s most exciting moments within the search results in Google Search for mobile and desktop. Cricbuzz has launches new World Cup section, on their Android, iPhone and iPad apps, as well as web targeting 75 million users during the tournament. During IPL 2014, Cricbuzz was used by over 50 million people, with more than 80% of users on their mobile devices, says the company. In January, Cricbuzz users spent over 2.5 billion minutes on the Cricbuzz app, generating 2.6 billion page views, it adds. Skype for Android has been updated to version 5.2 that adds several new features including option to send photos to your Skype contacts even when they are offline. When they are back on Skype, photos you shared show up in the chat history, whether or not you’re online. Skype has updated the iPhone app that brings back URI support so that you can start calls and chats straight from the mobile app or mobile website. If you tap a Skype name or phone number, the URI will open the Skype app to connect a call or send a message, making it faster to reach friends, family or businesses. It also adds new improvements to the dialer that searches for Skype contacts as a phone number is entered.

Disney India’s Interactive business has launched ICC Pro Cricket 2015, the official video game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 for Android, iOS, PCs and DTH platforms. The game is packed with a super immersive gameplay, stunning graphics and multiple play modes making the gameplay experience as close to the real game on-ground as possible, for PC, mobile and DTH users, says the company. It will be available as cut down versions for smartphones and DTH platforms.

Meru Cabs has introduced that it has added Google Now integration to its app. Google updated the Google Search app to support Google Now cards from third party apps recently. Meru Cabs becomes the first cab service in India to integrate with the Google app. The Google Now integration will send passengers reminders for cab pickups, alerting them in case they wish to avail of a cab depending on their location, as well as other such information through Now cards within the Google app for Android, says the company. Motorola has announced that it has started rolling out Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the first and second generation Moto G smartphones in India. It is also rolling out Lollipop update for the Moto G (2nd Gen) in the US and for both the Moto G variants in Brazil. The Lollipop update brings all-new material design, better touch screen interactions, quick notifications on the lock screen and more.
