Nokia announced the Belle FP1 update last month that brings Dolby Headphone and Dolby Digital Plus support, 20 new home screen widgets and refreshed multitasking bar. Sony Mobile Communications has officially launched the Xperia S, their new flagship Android smartphone in their NXT series. The Xperia S comes with 4.3 inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS that is upgradable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in Q2 2012. Airtel has launched India’s first 4G service in Kolkata. It is based on TD-LTE. The Airtel 4G website went live yesterday and the 4G plans starts from Rs. 999. As the Airtel 4G website went live few hours ago , the tariffs have also appeared on the site. The plans start from Rs.999 for 6GB of data and the top-end plan is Rs.1999 for 18GB of data. There is also a plan for Rs.1399 which gives you 9GB of free usage. Initially , these plans will be available only over USB modems and will be available on both Prepaid and Postpaid. After you cross the free data quota , your speed will be throttled to 128 Kbps as per Fair Usage Policy.

When Airtel was telling us about 4G launch plans , you might have thought they were kidding as we are still getting used to 3G. But the Airtel 4G website just went live. The 4G LTE networks promises speeds up to 40Mbps. The network uses 4G LTE-TDD technology which supports speeds up to 100 Mbps.Initially access will be based on a 4G USB Modem and then a 4G LTE Indoor Wireless Gateway option would be available. Tariffs look attractive for most users but not for heavy downloaders with plans starting at Rs.999 per month for 6GB and Rs.1999 for 18GB. According to the website the plans will be available both on prepaid and postpaid. You will need a new number for airtel 4G LTE which will be using an USIM module.

They have partnered with Bharti Airtel for limited period offers such as free download of 100 full songs, 500 MB data for 3 months and 200 minutes of Mobile TV for customers purchasing the phone till June 30, 2012. The HTC One X is now available in India at an MRP of Rs.42999 ouch and you can grab one at a store for much lesser at around Rs.37000 according to few shops who are stocking the handset. The HTC One X is the first Quad Core phone to launch in India and it is also the first phone to launch in India running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (Samsung Galaxy Nexus is still not officially launched).
