It has a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. iberry has launched the Nuclea X, the company’s latest smartphone in the Nuclea series. It has a 5.7-inch 720p display, powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450-MP4 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to Nuclea N2. iberry has also launched the affordable Auxus Handy H01 smartphone with a 4-inch display and a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor. Lava Iris 450 COLOUR that was spotted on the official website, has been officially launched. It has 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has 3G connectivity and comes with dual SIM support with dual standby, similar to other Lava smartphones. NTT DOCOMO, popular mobile solutions provider has just announced that it plans to sell the company’s entire 26.5% stake in Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL). It entered India by investing in TTSL in March 2009. It invested 252.3 billion yen or about Rs. 13,000 crore in Tata Teleservices in March 2009 and 14.4 billion yen or Rs. 800 crore in May 2011.

Apple revealed its Q2 financial report today by recording $45.6 billion in revenues. The company shipped 43.72 million iPhones in the last quarter in addition to 16.35 million iPads. Giving insights about its performance in India, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that iPhone sales have increased 55% over the past year.

Lava partnered with Broadcom recently to launch the QPAD e704 tablet with a quad-core Broadcom SoC earlier this month for Rs. 9999. Broadcom has announced that it is powered by a quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 chip with HSPA+ support. The Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA) has allowed the use of Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) including cell phones in the non-transmitting mode called flight or airplane mode. Previously travellers were not allowed to use these electronic devices and were asked to switch them off before the flight takes off.

Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturer known for its unique business model of selling its devices directly, announced its global expansion plans, starting with the hire of Hugo Barra, an Android executive from Google. Months after he joined, Xiaomi started its operations in Singapore, and ever since, we have been expecting more countries to be added to the list. Very recently, Xiaomi’s CEO Lin Bin and Hugo Barra visited Google’s MD in India, signaling a trigger of its operations here. And the company just announced it on Twitter, along with 10 other countries, where it will launch next.

Earlier this month Uber announced that it would offer free riders to customers on polling days in Indian cities it operates, today the company has revealed promo codes for Chennai and Mumbai that would let the customers in these cities get a free Uber ride during polling hours (7am-7pm) on April 24th. Uber was initially launched in Delhi back in October last year and expanded to other major cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. Microsoft India has partnered with HP and Pearson to launch a new tablet for college going students. Aiming at students from engineering and management streams, the tablet is powered by Windows 8.1 and dubbed as HP Omni 10.
Motorola Mobility has appointed Amit Boni from within the company as the General Manager of India operations. He joined Motorola Mobility in early 2010 taking charge of GTM strategy and sales operations for the Asia region. As a general manager, he will lead the team across the country and be responsible for the Go-to-Market strategy, said the company.
