Samsung Galaxy S5 might launch in India for Rs. 51500

Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy S5, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India tomorrow. Now Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom reports that the phone would be priced at Rs. 51,500 in India and would go on pre-order starting March 28th for a pre-booking price of Rs. 1500. Samsung also plans to offer 15% Cash Back on Citibank Credit Cards with EMI of 6/12/18 months at applicable interest rates. Vodafone ties up with Disney India to launch Vodafone Games & Apps

Vodafone India has partnered with Disney India’s Interactive business to launch Vodafone Games & Apps to offer premium games and apps for both feature and smart phones. Vodafone partnered with Hungama to launch Vodafone Music back in December last year and tied up with Star India for Vodafone Sports. Wickedleak Wammy Titan 3 Octa

Wickedleak has launched Wammy Titan 3 Octa, a variant of the Wickedleak Wammy Titan 3 that was launched last year. It has a 5.7 inch (1280 x 800) HD display based on OGS technology, powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Other features are similar, including a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. LG G2 gets the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in India

Last month LG UK promised that the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update would be available in UK starting mid-March. The international variant of the LG G2 got the KitKat update last week, now the update is available for the Indian G2 users. The KitKat update for the G2 would bring battery-saving location mode, speed improvements for 17% percent faster performance compared to Jelly Bean, Google Cloud Print and lots more new features. Nokia Asha 230 Dual SIM, the company’s latest affordable touchscreen phone in the Asha series is now available from the official Nokia Shop. Ever since Xiaomi, the popular smartphone manufacturer from China, laid out plans for expansion to Singapore, we knew that India was coming. As a confirmation to this, we have a Cnet interview of Hugo Barra talking about the company’s impending entry into the burgeoning Indian smartphone market and a tweet from the head of Google India, who had a meeting with Xiaomi’s Lin Bin and Hugo Barra as a part of the ongoing initiative. Xiaomi recently launched in Singapore, its first market outside China, and looks to expand rapidly to become a true global player.

Samsung announced their next flagship S series smartphone in MWC 2014 as Galaxy S5, and it is going to be available across 150 countries from April 11th. But just like Galaxy Note 2, India will get the Galaxy S5 before the Europe and USA. The India launch is in this week, and the date is March 27, 2014 same as Malaysian launch date. So on March 27, Galaxy S5 will get announced in India with price and exact model availability (Snapdragon or Exynos Octa Core) but the actual availability of Galaxy S5 is around April 11th globally including India. LG unveiled the L Series III smartphones L40, L70 and L90 and its dual SIM variants at the MWC 2014 in Barcelona last month. The LG L90 Dual and the L70 Dual are now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. The L70 Dual has a 4.5 inch WVGA display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. The LG L90 Dual has a 4.7-inch qHD display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. Nokia rebuts Tamil Nadu Government’s tax claim, as acquisition nears

Nokia has been involved in a long term tax battle with the Indian government for more than a year now, and things don’t seem to be getting any better for the Espoo company. Adding fuel to this fire is the Tamil Nadu government, which has recently moved to assess sales tax for devices that are exported from the Chennai Sri Perumbudur manufacturing facility. Nokia claims that these allegations from the government are baseless, as, by law, exports are exempt from taxes. With yet another tax evasion claim, it will be even harder for Nokia to complete its transition in time for the Microsoft acquisition.
