Google updates Game Gifting and new Game Developer Tools

Google introduced Play Games as a competitor to Apple’s Game Center, but it has hardly caught up in the race. The Google Play Games still lacks in features like how you cannot properly use gift codes and also the free to paid app transition is troublesome. Google has just announced an update to the Play Games service in the form of new developer options and also ability to gift in the game.

Amazon Game controller for Android-based console surfaces

Earlier this year rumors about Amazon’s gaming console running Android surfaced. Today, Dave Zats spotted a gaming controller with Amazon branding at Brazilian cetification website, similar to FCC. It did not have any other details, but we can clearly see a layout, similar to the gaming controllers for Android. Flappy Bird is no more, pulled from Android and iOS stores

The very infamous Flappy Bird was introduced to smartphones and tablets back in 2013, but it gained widespread popularity only in the past couple of weeks. Ever since, almost everybody was complaining about the game saying that it was tough to play. A lot of raging tweets and posts filled social media. All these voices seemed to have reached the developer Dong Nguyen as he tweeted over the weekend saying that the game would be taken down within 22 hours.

FlappyBird to introduce the sensation of rage quit to Windows Phone soon

FlappyBird is coming soon to Windows Phone, possibly in just 10 more days, if the developer’s tweet is to be believed. The recent mobile sensation is a frustratingly simple game with intentionally clunky physics that has taken over the world for its difficulty in scoring. It’s also been made into Internet memes and is hugely popular with the young crowd for the ability to make people “Rage quit” the game in frustration. Like all new releases, this game too evades support for Windows Phone, but if the developer’s tweet is to believed, this game will likely be landing on Windows Phone really soon.

Google releases 5 mini games for Glass, wants devs to make more

Games are usually the best examples to showcase any new platform. The iPhone got a ton of mini apps and games that showed off its accelerometer and touch screen, which were novel at that time. Similarly, Google has developed 5 mini games for its innovative “Glass” wearable product, to showcase the hardware’s unique capabilities. As of now, the Glass can already let you make calls, get directions and so on, but games are something new. Having unboxed the Glass and found it to work really well, we can’t wait to test these mini games which might give us a glimpse of the kind of apps that Google will let developers make for the wearable product, that just got a lot more socially acceptable with new frames for prescription lenses.
