Karbonn ties up with Vodafone, offers bundled data with Titanium S5 and Smart A12

Karbonn has announced that they have tied up with Vodafone India to offer free data on purchase of the Karbonn Titanium S5 and the Smart A12. This would let the Karbonn Titanium S5 buyers enjoy 1GB of 3G or 3G Unlimited Internet Plan free for 3 Months on Vodafone. First time Vodafone 3G customers using Karbonn A12 would get 500 MB  of 3G and 2G Internet Plan free for 2 months.  The company partnered with Airtel earlier this year to offer similar data packs with select smartphones. Samsung launched the Galaxy Mega devices, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 in India at an event earlier today. The company has announced data benefits for Vodafone customers as usual. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos launched with data offer from Vodafone and the Galaxy S4 came with All-in-One plan.

Vodafone launches new international roaming pack, offers over 90% discount on data


Vodafone India has launched a new international roaming pack for its post-paid customers in India visiting countries like UK, USA, UAE, Singapore and Thailand. It offers over 90% discount on data and approximately 64% on outgoing local and international calls.  This pack is aimed at customers travelling overseas during this vacation season. The pack offers over 90% discount on data with rates as low as Rs.50/MB while roaming overseas. Outgoing local and international calls will be charged at Rs. 25/min and Rs.50/min respectively. Incoming calls will cost Rs. 50/min. Vodafone India to take legal action against DoT regarding extension of licenses in 3 circles


Vodafone, in a statement today has announced that they are  taking all required actions, including legal against the Department of Telecom (DoT), regarding extension and continuity of its licenses in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, as per the provisions of policy and license and repeated assurances by DoT and Ministry in the past.  The 900MHz and 1800MHz spectrum allocated to Vodafone would expire in 2014. Vodafone launches Superfan Junior contest for IPL 2013


Vodafone India launched the Superfan contest for their customers last month, that runs till May 20, 2013. Now the company has launched the Superfan Junior contest that would let  22 young boys and girls aged 6-12 years across India a chance to walk hand-in-hand on field with 22 of the world’s finest cricketing heroes competing at the Grand Finale of IPL 2013, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on 26th May 2013. Vodafone Superfan Junior will be selected basis the entry by Eligible Subscribers who need to be the parents or guardians of the children. The Samsung Galaxy S4 just launched in India today, and part of the announcement was the exclusive partnership with Vodafone for bundle offers. Vodafone, one of India’s largest mobile operators has special plans for the Galaxy S4, which we slightly touched upon in the launch post, and now we are going into the details. These packs offer incoming calls at 30p/minute while roaming on Vodafone network, across India and outgoing call rates at 1.5p/sec for all local & STD calls, while roaming or at home. Vodafone and ICICI Bank partner to launch M-Pesa mobile money transfer and payment service

Vodafone India has partnered with ICICI Bank to launch M-Pesa, a mobile money transfer and payment service. It offers a simple and secure way to transfer money and make payments with the security of financial transactions provided by ICICI Bank. Vodafone India through its subsidiary, Mobile Commerce Solutions Ltd. (MCSL) and ICICI Bank announced the M-Pesa back in November 2012. Airtel, Vodafone and Idea can continue 3G Intra-circle roaming till April 11, says SC

Airtel has got a temporary relief, and can continue their 3G intra-circle roaming till April 11th. A Supreme Court bench has asked telecoms department not to take any action on the Bharti Airtel on 3G roaming pact till Thursday, according to a report from The Economic Times. Last month DoT had asked Bharti Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles and asked them to pay Rs. 350 crore (Rs. 50 crore per circle) for illegal roaming pact. Delhi High Court temporarily stalled the execution of DoT’s order until the final hearing, after Airtel appealed against it. DoT asks Vodafone and Idea to stop 3G Intra-circle roaming


The Department of Telecom (DoT) have asked Vodafone India and Idea Cellular to stop 3G services outside their licensed zones in 3 days, according to a recent report by Economic Times. DoT has also asked these companies to pay Rs. 550 and Rs. 300 crore, respectively for violating licence norms. DoT had asked Bharti Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles last month and asked them to pay Rs. 350 crore (Rs. 50 crore per circle) for illegal roaming pact. Later Delhi High Court temporarily stalled the execution of DoT’s order until the final hearing, after Airtel appealed against it. Vodafone launches Super Fan contest for IPL 2013


IPL 2013 is starting tomorrow, with the opening ceremony kicking off in few hours. Vodafone has launched the Super Fan contest for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013. This contest would let 76 lucky Vodafone customers stand a chance to win a match ball autographed by the winning captain on Live TV during 76 matches, in the 54 day long tournament. Vodafone India has launched customer support through live chat. This service lets Vodafone customers chat to the customer care executive to solve their queries about their connection. This saves a lot of time since it connects quickly, unlike a call to customer support that would have several procedures before it connects to a customer care executive.
