Update: 21st April 2020 – Following the announcement by Airtel and Vodafone IDEA, now BSNL and Reliance Jio have announced validity extension for prepaid users. Unlike Airtel which has increased validity only for limited number of users, Jio is extending incoming call validity for all users. Similarly, BSNL is extending prepaid pack validity till May 5th, 2020. Airtel has launched new Home Plan that lets you combine your existing Airtel postpaid, Airtel Broadband connection and Airtel DTH connection under one bill and get several benefits including discounts. If you have one postpaid connection, Broadband or DTH, you can combine them, but a postpaid connection is compulsory. It was rolled out way back in 2018 in Hyderabad as a beta. On Friday, the Supreme Court (SC) heavily criticised the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for not collecting AGR dues from telecom operators such as Airtel and Vodafone after failing to meet its January 24th deadline. Airtel will reportedly pay Rs. 10000 crores for now while Vodafone has informed the SC that they will only be able to Rs. 2500 crores now.

Last month Airtel rolled out Voice over Wi-Fi services officially starting from Delhi NCR, later it expanded to Mumbai, Kolkata,Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Today the company has launched Wi-Fi Calling in Kerala, Gujarat, UP (West), Maharashtra, UP (East), Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Previously it was compatible only with Airtel Xstream Fiber home broadband, now it works with all broadband services and Wi-Fi hotspots, even though the site still says it works only on Airtel broadband.
