Videocon has launched Infinium Z40Q Star and Infinium Z50Q Star, two new budget Android smartphones in the Infinium series. The Infinium Z40Q Star has a 4-inch WVGA, while the Infinium Z50Q Star comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display. Both these smartphones are powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core SoC and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). The Z50Q Star appeared on the official website earlier this month. Samsung launched the Galaxy E Series smartphones in India earlier this month. Priced at Rs. 19,300, the Galaxy E5 is a bit cheaper than the Galaxy E7 that costs Rs. 23,000. The design language of the E series is similar to the A series, including a uni-body design, but these don’t have all metal build. Check out the unboxing below.
Motorola has announced that it has sold 3 million Motorola smartphones in India till date. This includes all the Motorola smartphones in Moto G and Moto X series and Moto E. Back in November 2014 Flipkart announced that it sold 2.5 million smartphones in India. It took about 2 months for the company to sell half a million smartphones. YU today announced that it has sold 10,000 units of YU YURKA smartphones in just 3 seconds in the third flash sale on Amazon.in. It sold 15,000 units of Yureka smartphones in 4 seconds in its second flash sale last week. Next sale is scheduled for next Thursday, February 5th at 2PM. Registrations for the next sale will begin at 5PM today on Amazon. Users will have to register to participate in the weekly flash sale and registrations of previous sales will not be valid for future sales, said the company. Lenovo’s recently launched budget smartphone Lenovo A6000 sold out on Flipkart within seconds. The company has revealed that 10,000 units of the affordable LTE smartphone were sold out within 2 seconds. It received 2,55,000 registrations for the sale.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 4 smartphone in India earlier today for Rs. 19,999, which goes on sale from February 10th. Xiaomi usually offers limited number of units for the Flipkart First subscribers, before the smartphone goes on sale for the first time on Flipkart. Today, Xiaomi and Flipkart have announced that the first 2500 Flipkart First subscribers who register to buy the Mi 4, will get the smartphone added to their cart automatically when it goes on sale on February 10th. Airtel has partnered with Nokia Networks to deploy FDD-LTE on 1800 MHz in six new (Mumbai, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab and West Bengal) circles across India, as expected. Last year Nokia Networks grabbed a 3G contract from Bharti Airtel that included India-first dual band, dual carrier 3G network implementation. HTC has launched Desire 526G+ Dual Sim, the company’s latest smartphone in the Desire series. It has a 4.7-inch (960 x 540 pixels) display, is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with HTC Sense UI. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. HTC has partnered with Snapdeal to sell the smartphone. It was announced back in July last year, packs a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 441 PPI, based one-glass solution (OGS), is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on MIUI 6 on top of Android 4.4 (KitKat). Lava has launched Iris X1 Mini and Iris X1 Grand, the company’s latest budget smartphones in the Iris X1 Series. It Iris X1 mini has a 4-inch WVGA screen and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, while the Iris X1 Grand has a 5-inch FWVGA IPS screen and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor. Both the smartphones run on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat). It promises Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the Iris X1 Grand. Both these smartphones have the same design of last year’s Iris X1. Spice Group today announced an investment of Rs 500 crores to set up a mobile manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh. It has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Uttar Pradesh for setting up the manufacturing unit in the state. Under the MoU, the Government of UP will support Spice Group in establishing the facility in the state of Uttar Pradesh in a time bound manner and facilitate the necessary infrastructure, ecosystem and incentives under various schemes announced by the State and Central Government.
