Nokia Music Connects 2010 – Mumbai

We had an opportunity to attend Nokia Music Connects 2010 on September 2, 2010 and to discuss Nokia OVI Music Services in India with Adam Mirabella (Global Director of OVI Music Services, Nokia). Its his 4th visit to India in a year, Adam Mirabella was pretty excited about the opportunities in Indian Market. It was not just related to Nokia Ovi Music Services but also bringing together all the Music industry giants  which includes Sony Music India, EMI, BMG, RPG SAREGAMA and many others at Nokia Music Connects 2010. The opening of the ceremony was done with a beautiful song named ‘Shanti Aye’ performed by Australian Band ‘Old Man River‘ with Hamsika Iyer.

Nokia X2 Launched in India for Rs.5999

Nokia announced the X2 back in April for India for an estimated price of Rs.5000. Now the handset is finally available in stores across India for a retail price of Rs.5999. Blackberry Pearl 9105 now available in India

The Pearl 9105 was launched in India along with the Pearl 9100. While the Pearl 9100 has been available in the market for quite sometime, the 9105 was not available. Now the BB Pearl 3G 9105 is available in India at a price similar to the other Pearl.

Nokia is still the Most Trusted Brand in India

Despite loosing market share to Chinese and Korean clones and to Dual SIM warriors like Micromax, Spice –  Nokia is still the Most Trusted Brand in India according to the Economic Times  Brand Equity survey for 2010. Nokia has bagged the title for 3 years in a row now. I feel Nokia still produces good value for money phones but  there is nothing interesting in the smartphone space compared to the competition. Nokia just launched Dual SIM phones in India which Nokia loyalists have been demanding for ages. When I spoke to Jo Harlow of Nokia , she told me that the delay was mainly connected to enforcing quality in the Dual SIM products.Do you trust Nokia as a brand. Answer our poll below

Nokia N8 India Launch in mid-September

Nokia India has announced on Twitter that the Nokia N8 – 12 MP Camera phone is launching in India in mid-September. Some of our sources are saying that it will go on sale during Nokia World 2010 in some countries. Some are pointing to a Sep 23rd Release date for India. The expected price is around Rs.22000- 25000 ! Are you looking forward to the N8 ?
