ZTE has announced that it will pre-load Google Now Launchers on its smartphones running on Android 4.4. The ZTE Blade Vec 4G will be the first smartphone to get the launcher.

ZTE today unveiled three new smartphones nubia Z7, nubia Z7 Max and nubia Z7 mini in the nubia series. The nubia Z7 is the company’s first smartphone with a quad HD display. It has a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD CGS (Continuous Grain Silicon) IPS display. The nubia Z7 Max has a 5.5-inch 1080p display and the Z7 mini has a 5-inch 1080p display. All these smartphones are powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with nubia UI 2.0 on top. ZTE has announced its plans to expand operations in India by launching six new smartphones this year. The Chinese telecom maker made its debut in India last year in July by launching smartphones and 3G data cards.

ZTE unveiled the Grand S II at the CES 2014 earlier this year. ZTE has launched the smartphone in China. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD IPS display based on One Glass Solution (OGS) technology, powered by a 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor (instead of Snapdragon 800 at the time it was announced) and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS. One of the main reasons that Windows Phones haven’t sold as much as Android smartphones is because of the lack of manufacturers. At launch, Microsoft had only a handful of manufacturers and as Windows Phone grew, the number of manufacturers shrunk and at one point, Microsoft bought out Nokia, which was probably the only company making Windows Phones.

ZTE announced the ECO-MOBIUS modular phone concept last year, even before the Motorola Project Ara . It even won Red Dot 2013 award for the best concept design. We got a to check out the ZTE ECO-MOBIUS at the CES 2014. The ECO-MOBIUS concept divides the phone into four independent modules – display, core, battery, and camera.
