Xiaomi sold 40,000 units of Mi 4i smartphones in just 15 seconds in the first flash sale today on Flipkart at 2PM. It received over 3 lakh registrations for the sale. Xiaomi has just announced the results of Q1 2015 and that it has retained its number one spot in the Chinese market. The company holds a market share of 14% and are well ahead of some of the big international players.
Xiaomi launched its Mi 4i smartphone in India last week at a price tag of Rs. 12,999. We brought you the hands-on impressions and the unboxing of the smartphone recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a second-generation Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.65 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.1 GHz per core. It has Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 550 MHz, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 5-inch 1080p screen and runs on MI UI 6 based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop). Xiaomi just announced the Mi 4i at their event in Delhi today. It is basically a lower priced version of the Mi 4 with slightly different specifications and design.
Xiaomi has launched the Mi Band, the company’s first fitness band and sleep tracker. It connects to your Android smartphones running Android via Bluetooth 4.0 low energy (BLE), has a set of sensors that monitors your fitness and tracks your sleep. The data can be share to social networks easily with the companion app that would also offer you health advice. It has aluminum surface and skin-friendly wristband.

Xiaomi has launched Mi 4i, the company’s latest smartphone in the Mi series. It has a 5-inch 1080p fully laminated display from JDI or Sharp with 178-degree viewing angle, is powered by an 2nd generation Octa-Core Snadpragon 615 processor and runs on MIUI v6 on top of Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with visual interactive voice response (IVR) feature built for India. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera from Samsung or Sony with 5-element lens, f/2.0 aperture and two-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 80-degree wide-angle lens. Xiaomi’s grand entry into India was more to do with the Redmi 1s than any of its other devices. We had called it “one of the best budget smartphones ever made” and that it was, with a price point that shook the market. Over 6 months have passed since then, and the market has adapted to the threat, with a number of devices that now offer more or less the same, in terms of specifications. Xiaomi recently partnered with GreenDust and Overcart to sell refurbished and unboxed Redmi 1S smartphones. Unboxed Redmi 1S units went on sale last week on Overcart. Today Overcart has announced that it is bringing the Redmi Note 4G smartphone next week. Refurbished and Unboxed Redmi Note 4G units will be available for Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 8,499, respectively. The devices will be covered under a six-month manufacturer warranty from Xiaomi, says the company. Xiaomi has introduced special Black Edition of Mi Note smartphone in China. Announced by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun with Chinese famous singer Jason Zhang, the leather box which is handmade has Jason Zhang’s new music album and a special photo album. Xiaomi recently introduced Cherry Pink Mi Note for Women for its 5th anniversary and Special Bamboo Edition of Mi Note last month.
Xiaomi recently announced a temporary price cut of Rs. 2,000 for Mi 4 variant during Mi Fan Festival on April 8th. Today the company has implemented permanent price cut for both the variants of the Mi 4. The 16GB variant is now available for Rs. 17,999, down from the launch price of Rs. 19,999 and the 64GB variant is available for Rs. 21,999, down from the launch price of Rs. 23,999.
