Smartphone Championship: HTC Droid Incredible vs Palm Pre

Well folks, the first match was between the Nexus One and the Apple iPhone 3GS, and Nexus One won by a good margin. HP Buys Palm For $1.2 Billion

HP has finally decided to buy Palm for $1.2 billion, which equals to $5.70 per share of Palm common stock. This deal is expected to be completed by the HP’s third fiscal quarter ending on July 31.

The wait is over! HP has finally decided to buy Palm for $1.2 billion, which equals to $5.70 per share of Palm common stock. This deal is expected to be completed by the HP’s third fiscal quarter ending on July 31. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Palm stockholders will receive $5.70 in cash for each share of Palm common stock that they hold at the closing of the merger. Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein is expected to remain with the company. Check out the press release below.

Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus Specs Gets Leaked

The Detailed Specs of the upcoming Palm Pre Plus and the Palm Pixi Plus are now out, all thanks to a leaked document from Verizon.

Palm Pre Plus features a a 3.1″ capacitive display with 320*480 resolution and multi-touch support. The device also comes packed with 16GB of internal memory, slide out QWERTY keyboard, 3MP camera with LED Flash, Support for Wi-Fi, EVDO Rev A, Bluetooth, video and music playback, and a document viewer. Are new operating systems in the smart phone field hurting Nokia?

My friend, Ranesh Kumar considered picking up a new Nokia handset before he heard about the new Motorola Droid. Just last week, he bought two Motorola Droids from Verizon, one for himself and one for his fiancée.

Nokia_e70Ranesh was a Nokia fan for a long time and had owned few Nokia’s including an E70. But he made the transition to Verizon for a decent deal on a Voyager two years ago (because he likes qwerty keyboards and that was the only one he liked at the time). Ranesh couldn’t wait for a decent Nokia device to hit the market he liked, so he took the plunge. When he tested out the N97, he was terribly disappointed with the overall OS and decided to hold out for the Christmas season of this year to see what was around the corner and settled on the Motorola Droid running the Android 2.0 OS. Palm Pixi is Official, joins the webOS family

palm-pixi_heroPalm announced the Pixi last week and its the latest entrant to the webOS family of handsets. The official announcement indicated that is phone is coming out this Q4 on Sprint in USA. The phone promises the same kick-ass UI as the Pre with Multitasking,Synergy for Contacts, Notifications and Search.  From the looks of this phone it looks like an elongated version of the Centro with a touchscreen. While we told you Palm Pre is coming soon to India , we are yet to hear from them about the official launch date.The GSM Version certainly does exist as it was spotted at MWC in Barcelona and also in Vietnam. Here are some pics of the CDMA version for now.
