Oppo R5 with 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 4.85mm thin body announced

Oppo unveiled the Oppo R5 along with the Oppo N3 at the event in Singapore. The Oppo R5 becomes the slimmest smartphone in the world, beating the 5.1mm Gionee Elife S5.1. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU and runs on Color OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Oppo N3 with 5.5-inch 1080p display, 16MP auto rotating camera announced

Oppo just announced the Oppo N3, the latest smartphone in the N series at an event in Singapore. It a 5.5-inch 1080p display, features a 16-megapixel 206-degree rotating camera, dual LED flash, 1/2.3″ sensor,  pixel size of 1.34 microns and f/2.2 aperture. Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a to receive Android KitKat based ColorOS v2.0 update

Oppo is releasing an Android KitKat based ColorOS v2.0 update to Find 7 and Find 7a. This will not be an OTA update, and users will have to download the update package and move it to the root directory of the phone, then update while in recovery mode.

Cyanogen Camera App available in Play Store, works only with CM11S

Cyanogen has released the Cyanogen Camera app in the Play Store. However, its available only for devices running CM11S, which means that it is an exclusive to the OnePlus One.

Oppo has released a press image of its upcoming N3 smartphone that is scheduled for an official launch on October 29 in Singapore. The teased image shows N3’s swiveling camera that enables users to take front and back photos.

OPPO seems to have learnt from its mistakes it made with the N1 last year. The smartphone was the first from the ‘N’ series, and during a time when Snapdragon 800 smartphones reigned, the N1 came with only a Snapdragon 600 to spark criticism from OPPO followers.

Despite being a ‘Chinese manufacturer’, costs of OPPO’s phones often are in line with those from other brands. This isn’t very apparent on high-end devices, but it certainly shows on mid-range and entry-level devices. Oppo has been teasing its Oppo N3 launch for October for the past few days, now the company has started sending invites for the launch even that is scheduled on October 29th in Singapore. The Oppo N3 would also feature a rotating camera, similar to the Oppo N1 and could feature LTE support as rumored earlier, but other details of the smartphone are not available yet. Oppo N1 mini was launched last month as the mini variant of last year’s Oppo N1 that retains the same 13-megapixel swivel camera. The Oppo N1 mini comes in a smaller package and is priced at Rs. 26,990 in India, slightly cheaper than the N1 that now retails for Rs. 32,990.
