Oppo announces Find 7a with 5.5inch Full HD display and Snapdragon 801 SoC

Oppo is holding an event today in China where they announced their latest flagship device – Oppo Find 7 and its slightly trimmed down counterpart – Oppo Find 7a. Oppo Find 7a comes with a 5.5inch Full HD display sporting a pixel density of 403ppi and has most other features similar to the Oppo Find 7 which comes with a 5.5inch Quad HD display sporting a pixel density of 538ppi.

Oppo has finally unveiled the Find 7, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at an event in China. It has a 5.5-inch (2560×1440 pixels) Quad HD 538ppi LTPS display from JDI with Corning gorilla glass protection and Touch-on-Lens technology, powered by a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Color OS 1.2 on top. It has a 13-megapixel camera Sony IMX214 stacked sensor with 6-element lens, f/2.0 aperture and uses software enhancements to capture images at 50-megapixel (8,160 x 6,120 pixels) resolution. The camera is also capable of shooting RAW images and has 4K video recording. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Oppo is all set to unveil the Find 7, the company’s upcoming smartphones in two variants at an event on March 19th. A webio user has posted images of the Oppo Find 7 HD, the 1080p version of the device. Chinese website Mydrivers has managed to grab these images, before it was removed. In the meantime, there have been numerous leaks suggesting the specifications of the device. Very recently, an image with the specifications of the Find 7 seems to have surfaced online.

Oppo confirms two variants of Oppo Find 7 are coming

Oppo has used its Twitter account very efficiently to keep its fans guessing about what to expect from their next flagship. It was through the official Twitter account that they teased that Oppo Find 7 would be coming with a 2K display sporting a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. They also used Twitter to announce that they will be unveiling the next generation Oppo flagship in an event on March 19.

Oppo Find 5 was the first Full HD smartphone and Oppo had hoped they would be the first to announce a 2K display phone in the form of Oppo Find 7 at CES 2014 earlier this year, but things did not go according to their plan and they are yet to announce the Oppo Find 7. The launch was expected at the MWC 2014 later this month. We already know that the Find 7 would have a 2k display. The Oppo N1 with a swivel camera was launched in India recently. Oppo N1 officially arrives in India for a price of Rs. 39,999

Oppo had earlier revealed that they are entering the Indian market today, and right now, they have done just that, at an event in New Delhi. This event also sees the launch of company flagship, the Oppo N1, for a price of Rs. 39,999, for the 16 GB version. The N1, initially rumoured to be a camera centric device, turned out to be a lot more, which we had documented in our review earlier. It has a 5.9 inch 1080p display, a 13 megapixel camera sitting on a rotating swivel, a rear touch sensor for one handed usage, a really cool bluetooth accessory and so on. The hardware alone does not tell the entire story because the N1 is perhaps the most open device on the market, with an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery that can install ROMs like Cyanogen Mod without any modification. Now that it has landed in India, can the “13 MP selfie” phone make its mark in a highly competitive market?

Oppo to kickstart Indian operations on January 30th with the launch of N1

Oppo, the Chinese consumer electronics company, known for its popular smartphones like the Find 5 and the N1, has just sent out invites for an event where it will kickstart its Indian operations – Oppo Mobile India Private Limited, with the launch of its flagship device – the Oppo N1. While the invite doesn’t mention the launch of N1, FoneArena has confirmed that the company is indeed launching the device at the event. It is also really interesting to note that Oppo has courted Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor for increasing brand awareness in the country. Almost all the mobile phone companies have courted stars from Bollywood and Cricket to promote their brands and Oppo is no exception.

This installs easily on any version of the phone and is maintained by CyanogenMod team so that it will be updated with new releases, says the company.
