The original Micromax Canvas Xpress was announced in December 2014 at a price of Rs 6,999. The successor, the Canvas Xpress 2 was announced late last month at a price of Rs 5,999. Don’t be fooled by the pricing as the Xpress 2 seems to pack in a lot more than the original despite being Rs 1,000 cheaper than the former. However, mere specifications and a cheaper price tag alone doesn’t mean a phone is better than its predecessor or that it is a good buy at the time. We need to see how well it fares in real life and for that we need to dive into the review. It is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592M processor with 8 ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs clocked at 1.36 GHz per core and Mali 450-MP4 GPU. Micromax Canvas Spark sales surpass 5 lakh units, open sale on July 27 and 28

Micromax launched affordable Canvas Spark smartphone for Rs. 4,999 back in April. It went on sale through flash sales every week on Snapdeal. Today the company has announced that it has sold 5 lakh or half a million units in less than 2 and half months, earning a revenue of Rs.2.5 billion. It has also announced a open sale for the smartphone on July 27 and July 28 on Snapdeal. The company did not announce the number of units that will be available in the sale.
