Android 5.0 Lollipop update has started rolling out to LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition. The tablet had received Android KitKat 4.4 update in June.
As the tablet is a GPE device, the Lollipop update is similar to Google Nexus tablets. As a result of the Android 5.0 update, the LG G Pad 8.3 will receive Material Design user interface elements. It also brings lock screen notifications, a new battery saving mode, and features like Priority Mode and Smart Lock.
The LG G Pad 8.3 GPE edition sports a 8.3 Full HD IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Processor. The Lollipop update is 405 MB and users can manually check for OTA update. Check out our LG G Pad 8.3 GPE edition tablet review here.
LG has announced the appointment of Juno Cho as the new President and CEO of the LG Mobile Communication division as it restructures some of its other businesses. He will replace Jong-seok Park who is the current mobile executive.

LG has launched Tone Infinim (HBS-900), premium Bluetooth stereo headset developed in collaboration with Harman/Kardon in India. It was unveiled back in March, has a stylish design that is almost similar to previous Tone series headsets from LG, but this has a glossy metallic finish. LG just announced that it would start rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its flagship LG G3 smartphone this week starting from Poland. This would be followed by other key markets in future, said the Korean giant. Roll out details will be announced when it becomes available in local markets. LG has introduced G2 Lite (D295) and L Prime (D337) in Brazil. These new smartphones that are variants of L Fino and L Bello smartphones that were launched in India recently. The LG G2 Lite has a 4.5-inch WVGA IPS screen, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, comes with a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. The L Prime has a 5-inch FWVGA IPS screen, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, comes with a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1-megapixel front-facing camera. Both these run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with premium UX features.
