The HP Slate 7 VoiceTab is the other device that HP launched today alongside the Slate 6 VoiceTab. Practically the same under the hood, the Slate 7 goes for a lower price point and a larger screen size. The tablet also enables voice calls and 3G functionality which isn’t something unheard of but is nice to have nonetheless. As global PC shipments drop, HP is making a push to re-enter the highly lucrative smartphone market. With the launch of the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and the Slate 7 VoiceTab, the company have their sights set on the midrange phablets which is a segment that is currently dominated by local upstarts. Competition from global brands is heating up in the midrange 6inch phablet segment as Nokia too introduced its Lumia 1320 recently. We got to spend some time with HP’s new Slate 6 VoiceTab and here are our impressions.

HP has launched Slate 6 VoiceTab and Slate 7 VoiceTab, the company’s latest phablets in the VoiceTab series, as it promised last week. The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab has a 6-inch HD IPS display sporting a 1280×720 pixels resolution and the HP Slate 7 VoiceTab will have a 7-inch HD 1280×800 pixels IPS display. These devices would be powered by a quad-core processor and run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). These also have dual SIM support, dual front-facing speakers, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, but the Slate 7 VoiceTab lacks LED flash. HP announces Chromebox PC, launching in the US this Spring

After the Samsung and Asus, HP has announced their first Chrombox, a compact PC that runs Google’s Chrome OS. Even LG launched the Chromebase at the CES 2014, which is an All-in-One desktop, but the Chromebox comes only with the desktop unit, just like Apple’s Mac mini. HP India has just sent us the press invite for the launch of Slate 6 VoiceTab and  Slate 7 VoiceTab phablets in India. These were announced last month specifically for India. The February 13th event in India would see the global launch of these phablets.The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab has a 6-inch HD IPS display sporting a 1280×720 pixels resolution and the HP Slate 7 VoiceTab will have a 7-inch HD 1280×800 pixels IPS display. These devices would be powered by a quad-core processor and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). These also have dual SIM support. HP confirms Slate 6 and Slate 7 voice calling phablet/tablet for India

Hewlett-Packard, one of the leading PC manufacturers had a shy at the smartphone market and met with little success. The company had backed out a couple of years back and now are reportedly re-entering the smartphone/tablet market. HP will reportedly announce two new devices – HP Slate 6 and HP Slate 7 phablet and tablet respectively in India later this year. HP is expected to make an official announcement very soon.

HP launched Slate 21, the company’s first All-in-One (AiO) PC running runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) last year. Now the company has come up with a refreshed version of the AiO at the CES 2014, calling it Slate21 Pro. It has the same 21.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD capacitive reclining IPS touchscreen display with wide viewing angles and is powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. HP unveiled the HP Slate7 Extreme and Slate8 Pro NVIDIA Tegra 4-powered tablets back in September. The company did not announce the pricing and detailed specifications of these tablets at that time. Now these tablets are on sale in the U.S. including a new HP Slate7 Plus tablet powered by a Tegra 3 processor and the Slate10 HD tablet powered by a dual-core Cortex A9 Marvell PXA986 processor. HP has announced two new mid-range Android tablets along with the Slate 7 Extreme and Slate 8 Pro powered by Tegra 4. These tablets come with 7-inch and 10-inch display at a resolution of 1280 x 800. These tablets are powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex A9  Marvell PXA986 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). These also have  front and rear cameras. HP announced the company’s first Tegra 4-powered hybrid, SlateBook x2 with a 10.1-inch 1080p display back in May. Now the company has announced two new devices, Slate 7 Extreme and Slate 8 Pro powered by a Tegra 4 Cortex-A15 processor with 72-core GeForce GPU. The Slate 7 Extreme has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display, while the Slate 8 Pro comes with a 7.98-inch (1600 x 1200 pixels) display. HP has launched the Slate 21, the company’s first All-in-One (AiO) PC running runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) along with the Slatebook x2 in India. It was announced last month and has a 21.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD capacitive reclining IPS touchscreen display with wide viewing angles and is powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. You can tilt the screen between 15 and 70 degrees with your hand and can also mount the AiO using a standard VESA mount. HP Slatebook x2 Android convertible launched in India for Rs. 39,990

Ever since the HP slate that launched at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, HP had started its Android on-slaught with more devices. Sometime back, HP launched the Slatebook X2, a convertible Android tablet with a keyboard dock that made it work like a laptop too, if needed. This is the standard on most Windows 8 tablets and the trend was started way back, by the ASUS transformer, which has been caught up by other companies such as HP.

The SlateBook X2 has a 10.1-inch (1920 by 1200 pixels) IPS display, powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). Surprisingly, the full sized detachable keyboard dock has a touch pad too. The Keyboard dock has a full HDMI port, USB 2.0, an SD slot, and an audio port. It also has a battery that would act as a charger when docked.

HP has announced the Slate 21, the company’s first All in One (AiO) PC that runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 21.5-inch full HD capacitive touch screen reclining IPS touchscreen with wide viewing angles and powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. You can adjust the screen between 15 and 70 degrees with your hand and can also mount the AiO using a standard VESA mount. It has DTS Sound for immersive audio experience and comes pre-loaded with Kingsoft Office for editing office files. HP has announced the SlateBook x2 the company’s new tablet with support for a keyboard dock similar to the Asus Transformer series. The SlateBook X2 has a 10.1-inch (1920 by 1200 pixels) IPS display, powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a full-sized detachable keyboard dock with a touch pad. The Keyboard has a full HDMI port, USB 2.0, an SD slot, and an audio port.
