HP has launched Stream 7 and Stream 8 Windows 8.1 tablets. The 7 inch tablet is priced at $99.99 while the 8 inch tablet will cost $149.99. Both tablets are powered by Intel Atom quad-core processors.

HP launched the Slate 6 VoiceTab and Slate 7 VoiceTab, two new phablets in India with 3G support and voice calling capabilities back in February. HP 7 VoiceTab, the company’s new phablet in the VoiceTab series would launch in India early next week. After several rumors HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra and Slate 8 Plus have appeared on the official HP website. The HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra has a 7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Huawei HiSilicon processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. HP has announced a 14 inch Android powered laptop that is dubbed as SlateBook PC. Priced at $399, the laptop has a 14-inch FHD (1080p) touchscreen display with NVIDIA Tegra 4 under the hood. It is 16 millimeters thick and weighs just around 3.75 pounds (1.7 kg). The SlateBook 14 laptop was first leaked online in April this year.

Microsoft India has partnered with HP and Pearson to launch a new tablet for college going students. Aiming at students from engineering and management streams, the tablet is powered by Windows 8.1 and dubbed as HP Omni 10.
The downward slide of PC shipment continued even in the first quarter of 2014 after constant decline throughout entire 2013. Global PC shipments dropped to 76.6 million units in the first quarter of 2014, a 1.7 percent decrease from the same period last year, according to Gartner. Gartner attributed the slump in PC shipments to Microsoft’s decision to end support for Windows XP operating system.
