Google is working on a social app that will allow users to edit and share photos in small groups, according to a latest report from TechCrunch. Earlier this week, Apple launched Clips video creation and sharing app for iPhone and iPad. The report says Google’s new app will come with some of the same features as Clips.

Google is streamlining Hangouts experience for users. The company has announced that it will shut down Google Talks aka Gtalk/GChat feature in Gmail on June 26 and it will be replaced with Hangouts. Users will be will automatically be transitioned to Hangouts.

Google added SMS support in Hangouts for Android back in 2013 to encourage use of Hangouts so they can read instant-messages sent them over SMS in case they don’t have an internet connection. After some reports in 2014 and 2015 that said that Google will kill support for carrier SMS and MMS, Google has decided to kill SMS support for Hangouts in May, 2017. Gmail for web has received a new update that makes previewing video attachments smoother and quicker. Desktop users can now stream video attachments instead of downloading them. The latest feature comes after Gmail increased the attachment limit to 50MB earlier this month.
