Google AR Stickers and ARCore now available for Pixel devices

Google ARCore

While Google’s ambitious project Tango might have seen just two consumer products, the company has shown the AR technology on Pixel devices without tango. The AR stickers for a while have been in development since its launch with no timeline for final release. However, the day has finally come, and they are now rolling to Pixel devices.

Google’s ARCore is a technology that is based on Tango but doesn’t require the same hardware on the phone for it to work. Meaning, it can work on any Android phones, but for now, Google is targetting Pixel phones and Samsung Galaxy S8 with ARCore content for reasons well known.

The AR stickers app which plugs to the Pixel camera is available in the Play Store. The AR Stickers content starts from Star Wars, Stranger Things, food characters, etc. These AR stickers communicate with each other when placed near each other. There are not many stickers at the moment which is expected, but the content is reasonably decent. It requires your phone to run on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo preview ARCore’s new stickers to work.

Download the AR Stickers and ARCore from PlayStore.
