Google just unveiled its Pixel 2 smartphone in the ‘Pixel series’ at its event in San Francisco, as expected. It packs a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and runs on the latest Android 8.0 (Oreo). It has a 12.2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Dual Pixel and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

Google Pixelbook convertible laptop with Google Assistant announced starting at $999

Google just announced Pixelbook, the company’s latest convertible laptop running Chrome OS with support for Google Assistant with a dedicated Assistant key. It has a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with 3:2 aspect ratio and a thin backlit keyboard with soft-touch keys. The trackpad uses new, special touch-processing algorithms to navigate accurately, says Google. It is powered by 7th generation Intel Core i5 / i7 processor, 8GB / 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB SSD storage. Google Allo Web for Android and iOS now available on Firefox and Opera

Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel and Nexus devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. Like last time, is not available for Nexus Player yet. Google Android 8.0 Oreo is finally out of beta and is slowly finding its way into smartphones, and with that being out of the way, it’s time for Android Wear. Google is finally taking beta registrations for the preliminary beta update for the next version of Android Wear starting today. Though it is the next version of Android wear, you will be disappointed to know that the update doesn’t bring a lot of new features and will only be termed as “technical upgrade to API 26”. Android Oreo is now on 0.2% of devices, Nougat adoption hits 17.8%

Google is out with Android distribution numbers for the month of October. Android Oreo that was released little over a month ago, has entered the charts this month and is now present on 0.2% of all the devices. Google started rolling out Android 8.0 Nougat to Nexus and Pixel devices in late August.

Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL press images surface ahead of October 4 announcement

Google is all set to unveil the Pixel 2 at an event tomorrow, October 4th. Press renders of the phone in several colors and pricing for both 64GB and 128GB storage versions surfaced last month, now clear press renders of the phone has surfaced. This also shows smaller bezel for the Pixel XL 2, thanks to 18:9 aspect ratio, but it is not an edge-to-edge screen, according to @evleaks.

Google Assistant now available on Android TV starting with NVIDIA SHIELD TV

Google has finally rolled out support for Assistant on Android TV starting with NVIDIA SHIELD TV just as it had promised earlier this year. For the assistant to work, firstly user have to update which is available for both the Original Shield TV and new upgraded model. In addition to SHIELD TV, Google said that it would also roll out the update to Sony Bravia TVs in the coming months. Functioning of the Google Assistant is very easy, and you can trigger the voice assistant by pressing the microphone button on your SHIELD remote which then will activate the Assistant.
