Asus Transformer AiO Hybrid tablet is finally coming to India. Asus has just sent over a press invite for the Transformer AiO launch event on 22nd May 2013 in India. The Transformer AiO all-in-one PC with a detachable tablet was unveiled earlier this year. It is actually a desktop PC with Windows 8, powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core processor with NVIDIA GT 730M graphics. It seamlessly switches into a self-contained tablet running Android 4.1 with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor at the touch of a button. We have been comparing the ASUS Fonepad with various small tablets here at our labs. We recently compared it with the Galaxy Note 8.0 aka Note 510 and found it quite different from the latter. However, in this comparison, we feel that both these devices are currently pegged head-to-head. Asus launched the  Fonepad in India last month. We brought you the unboxing of the device recently, here we have the complete review of the device. The Fonepad was announced at the MWC 2013, and packs a  1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. Xolo launched the Xolo X500 powered by the Atom Lexington Z2420 processor earlier this year. ASUS Fonepad vs Samsung Galaxy Note 510

The ASUS Fonepad and the Samsung Galaxy Note 510(also called the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0) are one of a kind tablets. Both launched at MWC, with similar functionality, but with different markets in mind. Carrying the Note brand, the Galaxy Note 8.0 or the Note 510 as it is called in India, has stylus features and all the Samsung goodness associated with all its Note products, while the Fonepad is ASUS’ first entry into the calling tablet market with it squarely aimed at the Tab 2 310’s price range while offering more performance per rupee ratio. By design and looks, it is clearly a Nexus 7 in another form. Between these two tablets, we are going to see which one is better and which one might suit you the best in case you are in confusion. Google Nexus 7 32GB WiFi + 3G now available from Snapdeal for Rs. 21999


Google Nexus 7 16GB version went on sale in India from the Google Play Store back in March at a price tag of Rs. 15,999, and the 32GB version went on sale from the Google Play last month at Rs. 18,999. Asus launched the 32GB WiFi and 32GB 3G versions of the tablet in India last  month. The 3G version went on sale only from select retail shops such as Reliance, but it didn’t show up on Google Play. Now online retailer Snapdeal has started selling the Nexus 7 32GB WiFi + 3G version along with the 32 GB WiFi version. Asus launched the Fonepad in India yesterday at a price tag of Rs. 15999. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here are the benchmarks of the device. The Fonepad is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Lexington Z2420 single-core processor with Power VR SGX540 GPU. Xolo launched the X500 powered by this processor earlier this year. Asus Fonepad launched in India for Rs. 15999

Asus has launched the Fonepad, the company’s first 7-inch tablet with voice calling support, as we reported earlier this week. The Fonepad has a  7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display, runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. It packs a 3-megapixel auto focus rear camera which supports 720p HD video recording and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has metallic finish with a streamlined design. Asus FonePad scheduled to launch in India on 24th April

Asus and Intel jointly announced their new device, the FonePad at Mobile World Congress. The device is finally going to launch in India on 24th April.  Serving as an interesting hybrid between phones and tablets, it sports a 7 inch screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The operating system of choice is Android 4.1 ie Jelly Bean.

The FonePad is one of the first Intel Atom Z2420  powered Android tablets to hit the market. Asus announced the FonePad at MWC 2013 this year along with the Padfone Infinity. The “FonePad” as the name suggests is a 3G tablet and phone packed into a 7 inch tablet form factor at an affordable price point. Yes there are a couple of microphones and an earpiece on the device and you can actually put the FonePad to the ear and make a phone call although we don’t know if it will look cool. The tablet comes in 2 colours – Champagne Gold and Titanium Gray. Here is a video where we unbox the Champagne Gold version of the Asus FonePad.

Asus Transformer Pad Infinity Android 4.2 update starts rolling out

Asus has announced that the Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OTA (over-the-air) update v 10.6.1.14.4 for the Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T would start roll out starting from today.  The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity was announced last year at MWC with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It received the Android 4.1 update last year, and promised the Android 4.2 update for the TF700T in Q2 2013 last month . The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 was the first non-Nexus tablet to receive the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update, which rolled out last month. Asus has launched the 32GB WiFi and 32GB 3G versions of the tablet in India. It was launched in Taiwan earlier this week as we told you, and all the four major carriers have started taking pre-orders for the device in Taiwan. The Padfone Infinity packs a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display and the Padfone station has a 10.1-inch (1920×1080 pixels) display. It is powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Asus Padfone Infinity launching in Taiwan this week


Asus Padfone Infinity that was announced last month in MWC 2013 would be launched in Taiwan on 26th March, according to a recent report from Central News Agency. The Padfone Infinity is the third device in the Padfone series, which follows the similar design as the first two Padfone devices. It lets you dock the phone in the Padfone station, which can be docked in a keyboard. The Padfone Infinity packs a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Asus PadFone 2 gets minor software update – improves stability , camera and WiFi performance

Asus is one of the best handset makers to provide timely updates for its Android phones. They launched the PadFone 2 last year with Android 4.0  ICS on board and rolled out an update to Android 4.1 JellyBean last year.Now the PadFone 2 has got a rather minor software update which is expected to make the already awesome PadFone 2 even more stable. There seem to be improvements in overall stability , camera , WiFi and battery life according to the official change log which you can find below.
