Asus has finally announced that the company’s most expected Zenfone 2 smartphone will be available in India in the last week of April. It has not announced if it is bringing all the Zenfone 2 variants to India. We unboxed the Zenfone 2 ZE500C, showed off the Zen UI based on Android Lollipop and gameplay demo recently. The Zenfone 2 ZE500CL has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor. The smartphone has Miracast screen mirroring support and also supports USB OTG. Here is a demo video that shows both these features.

The Asus Zenfone family did a lot of good for Asus last year to make inroads into the Indian mobile market and it was a success globally too. The Zenfone 2 which was announced at CES 2015 earlier this year looks to capitalize on the success of the Zenfone with some improvements and different versions. We got our hands on the ZenFone 2 ZE500CL version, which is the entry level version of the device which has gone on sale in Taiwan and Europe. Asus introduced the ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML) at the CES back in January. It introduced Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL), a smaller 5-inch variant in Taiwan last month, now the company has introduced Zenfone 2 (ZE550ML) another 5.5-inch variant of the smartphone with a HD display. Except the 4GB RAM variant, all the other Zenfone 2 variants are now available for order from official Asus online store in Taiwan and ships in April. Asus unveiled the Zenfone Zoom, the company’s first camera-centric smartphone in the Zenfone series with 3X optical zoom at the CES 2015 last month.
